SL messing with RL?

Ok, is anyone else ever affected in RL by SL?
Last night, my wife rolled over in her sleep, pulling the covers off my feet...twice (but that's another thread)
Anyway, I was half asleep and BOTH times, it actually took me a second to realize that I didn't have to go into Edit and resize the blanket to cover up my feet. I finally figured out that, yes, this was a RL blanket and I could just pull it over.

That and the fact that every time I go to a store, I get the strangest urge to "Right-Click" and "Buy".

Maybe I need to take a little break. Naah!

I was in sports shop the other day and the person behind put down on the counter the two items in her hand. The colour was perfect, even the texture...

A pink ball and a blue ball.

I just smiled to myself.

You didn't try to hop on them to see what they would do?

Hi Fletcher -- Welcome to SL. Many of us dream about SL and try various SL things in RL. I spend a lot of time wanting to zoom my camera in on various web pages, the TV, or even signs in RL that are too far away to read.

Luckily, I have never tried to actually walk THROUGH the door of a store - though traffic pisses me off enough so that I really would like the TP option.

You just have to be in SL for a little bit and soon you get a million of them. My fave is having my first instinct in a crowded mall be to do a page-up to get to the other gallery.

Then there are interferences with other computer apps. Like trying to move the camera position on web pages.

I would hope that RL teleporting would be a little more reliable than it is in SL .

An "Edit / Appearance" would be very handy to have RL too .

A mute button would sometimes be useful in RL, too.

Ooh, imagine if you wound up with your RL shoe up your RL butt.. OUCH!

My biggest one was trying to figure out how many prims it took to create an RL house.. My husband wondered why I facepalmed.

Just the other day I was really wanting the Emerald "derender" option.

I would be willing to give quite a bit for those damn sliders.

the only thing that I do is alt zoom on web pages, and in photoshop when I have both windows open... sometimes just alone to... I think thats a common one.. Other than that, I do view things rl and wonder how many prims it would take to build it in sl, or wonder which shape would be best...

Freeze, kick, ban.......I too do a lot of 'thinking' to myself, don't say it out loud in real, though, about 'gee that is one primmy looking build, wonder how many meters the land is and how many prims are available......'.

So you see, you are not alone. It's actually kind of fun.

Glad to see I'm not alone. The one about the pink and blue balls made me laugh.
I haven't got to the point of counting prims in RL objects (yet).

Nothing other than occasionally wishing really cute shoes could be had in RL for about a dollar.

I've mentioned before that I almost asked a co-worker where she got her skin, and once while looking at a woman's outfit thought, "Not bad for a system skirt."

But worse than SL invading RL is this: I actually had dreams of reading and posting to these Forums. Even more worser still, in the dream I gave my alt away by posting right after myself in the same thread!

Oh, and the same night, I dreamt that I was out with my family (in RL) and referred to my younger sister as "Six".

A few weeks ago i decided to do some work in the garden.
Progress wasn't the way i intended to be. ...

......It took me five minutes before i realized i've had to move it physically instead of just pointing at it......

Awwww. You thought your edit tool was broken, or perhaps you didn't have sufficient perms to move it........

God yes, my poor rl children know what tp, rez, edit etc are...they know that mommy dj's and does pictures of my sl friends in photoshop. They had to deal with me zoned one to many times in secondlife...its the reason i have taken a hiatus from dj'ing etc cause it wasn't fair to them.
My RL marriage ended when i turned to sl for some happiness, which I admit i have found with someone else after my marriage did end.
The only thing i have to say is that SL is a support system of family and friends that i would never change. Just the 'addiction' i had to it, where i was here 12-17 hours a day...lol

I am nearly 3 years old, and still waiting for the addiction to calm down. If I didn't work full time I could easily see myself there 12-17 hours a day.

No, my house is build with so many prims, i can't create garden tools.

My RL tier is way to high.. I wonder if I can sell off a patch.

I think this about the dresses all the time.

The bad part is when you are talking to someone and say something like "/me thinks ........"

People really gave me some odd looks the few times I have done that.

I often thought the same. However, I have been out on a short term disability leave since the middle of Oct and I still do not usually log into SL until mid-late afternoon.

I can, however, manage to sometimes waste away an entire morning here at the forums.
