Take a look at
https://support.secondlife.com/ics/support/KBAnswer.asp?questionID=4562 and scroll down to "Tracking Your Friends", just below "Other Map Functions". IF the person is on your friends list, and IF that friend has allowed you to see their map location, you can find them by selecting their name from the "Online Friends" drop-down list on the big map. |

Yes i know that. But I am asking if there is a method to track someone and find the sim they are on, even if they are not in your friends list.

there is no legal way to track people that are not on your list, and other than landing on the same sim and seeing them on the mini-map, no way to see where they are.

Busted! Of course that is what the OP wants to do - duh! Not necessarily. He could be worried that somebody is stalking him. _____________________

If someone gave me a stipend of 100,000L a month I would let them stalk me. It might be a little hard following me around to all the shops.

Not necessarily. He could be worried that somebody is stalking him. You are right - He could be worried about that! What a total drag that anyone would have to be bothered with that worry or be bothered so much to stalk in the fisrt place! Either way - they should get a grip and just enjoy the thrills and fun in SL. |

No, I have no interest in stalking anyone. That is not the reason I am asking. There could be other purposes
. So there is no legal way to do this. Well, are there illegal ways? |

Well, are there illegal ways? There used to be a way to do that through the IM system, but the last time I peeked at it, the location fields were being zeroed out. One LSL function used to let you follow an avatar across a teleport, but that was nerfed too. Social engineering still works, get the target to wear an attachment that phones home. |

A stalker to me is a some perv, or else someone with a non justifiable reasons for following after other ppl. My purpose for starting this thread are justifiable. But for various reasons I will not state the purpose here.

But for various reasons I will not state the purpose here. hmmmmm ... If you are worried somebody is stalking you, that is one thing. If you are trying to follow somebody else's movements, no matter what your motives, without their permission, that, to me, is stalking. If you have their permission (for some weird, grid-wide RP thing or whatever), why not just use the friends list? _____________________
