Noobie Hunting was once an honourable sport akin to English fox hunting which I (truly) love. Those red coats, those steeds, all those dogs. Really picturesque. And that little fox getting lotsa exercise. Hmmm. Unless the sport has changed a great deal, that "little fox," as I recall, gets ripped to pieces. . . .  _____________________

Yes, but those little pieces get shared by lotsa hungry doggies. ) Actually, my grandfather was seriously an avid hunter and rode to hounds whenever he could. And so did my great-grandfather and all my great uncles. Aunts too, I guess. And they try to keep the tail - and even the head - as a souvenir. Well, trophy (but that sounds so non-Green, doesn't it?) _____________________

because WoW isn't a social environment like SL is. The limit of what actions can be done there, and the control of content makes the difference. ~brie There's not much that happens here that can't happen in WoW, IM & Cybering still takes place there too. _____________________

The Kids are coming! The Kids are coming! The Kids are coming! Erm... ... Sadly I actually do feel a little paranoia over this. Nothing worse than discovering you're 'sexing' somebody who ... should not be there... What I always think is funny is... what is about the most -uncool- thing a teen can do? - Hang out with their parents. Yet, in these online communities, they make a constant uproar and a constant effort to go off an do exactly that. Hello... I'm your mom. Or maybe not your mom, but I might be your friend's mom, or it could be worse... I could be Mrs. Henderson, the 90-year old lady that teaches your math class... - Do you really want into my panties now? - That's what I don't get with these teens... They are so obsessed with invading the space of the people they find to be extremely uncool... I played WoW for a short time, in an adult only guild. Invariably there were teens hammering at the doors and claiming they were reporting the members for age discrimination... and every now and then somebody would get through the filters, join up, and about an hour later we'd get "OMG! You people are so F**king lame... Yer, lik, a bunch of old people or something..." - Well... yeah... We were old, we spent our time complaining about taxes, debating the election, commenting on pregnancies, grandkids, knitting, and work... If they managed to sneak in, we bored them to tears, and they left, after spending a lot of energy pointing out to us just how lame we were... If they'd listened and stayed out, we cold have saved them a lot of trouble. Its the same here, but worse. The purpose of SL is to sit around chatting at each other... Well, maybe not the only purpose, but its a big part of the point of it all. I have a lot more tools on hand in SL to bore a teen to death than I did in that game.  Of course there is also a lure here... Nekkid pix and cyberz. - But just remember that I might be that 90-year old math teacher. How do you know? Go cyber each other... Let me cyber my adult friends in peace.  _____________________
