WTF? Build disabled???

Something strange is going on, and it just started.

Was on my own land, with an alt that is in my land group. Parcel has Build off for "all", but enabled for group, and this alt was able to rez things from inventory a few minutes ago.

Left the sim to shop, and came back. tried to rez a pose ball on my bed, and nothing rezzed. The client was reporting that the parcel was set to "no build"! But that is NOT what the parcel settings are.

Logged on as my main, and could also see the "No Build" icon. The bed still didn't work, and yet I could rez a cube just fine.

Something is screwed up... Anyone else seeing this?

Don't know what the problem with the alt was.

But...

The "no build" icon shows for "group build" land even if you're in the group.

It only seems to be affecting my 2 parcels. The neighboring parcels aren't having issues (but were already set to allow anyone to build).

I tried turning on the Build abilities for all residents,and the icon went away from the top bar of the window, and *some* items work now, like a dev-pose bed or a sexgen couch.

But my sexgen beds *all* fail now.

My Sexgen v5.0 bed suddenly stopped working a couple days ago. The poseballs wouldn't rez. When I tried to reset, I got an error something like "script Dataload xx missing". sorry I'm not in world, so i can't look up the exact error. Now, I know I haven't done anything to mess about with the scripts and i'm the only one who could... One day the bed worked fine, the next it didn't.

I've IM'd and notecarded Tech Support for Sexgen but so far no reply.

Do you think your error could be similar?

ETA... My partner's bed, also a Sexgen (I believe), seems to be working fine on the parcel.

Allegria I have the same issue with my sexgen. Uhm my alt's sexgen.

That is the symptom I am getting now. Tried taking one bed into inventory and rezzing it fresh, and the menus never finished loading. tried a reset scripts, and got :

SexGen Birdseye Platinum + Diamond v5.0: Could not find script '~DataStore v5.0'.
SexGen Birdseye Platinum + Diamond v5.0: Could not find script '~DataStore v5.0 1'.
SexGen Birdseye Platinum + Diamond v5.0: Could not find script '~DataStore v5.0 2'.
SexGen Birdseye Platinum + Diamond v5.0: Could not find script '~DataStore v5.0 3'.
... on through ...
SexGen Birdseye Platinum + Diamond v5.0: Could not find script '~DataStore v5.0 39'.

This nuked every SexGen 5.0 bed on my land, for multiple owners.

A ver 4.0 bed on the same parcel was unaffected.

I wonder if this is a repeat of the last time they nuked scripts out of sexgen beds instead of the animations that were actually being DMCAed or ARed or whatever?

I sent Stroker an IM, citing the version and error message.

I'm in one of the sims with the new server code. I wonder if that is a factor?

That sounds suspicious to me - hopefully someone can check this possibility soon.

I've E-mailed Stroker directly for you guys, just in case he doesn't get Ceera's IM.

Corsi Mousehold is fixing them now for me. I contacted her via the "Neo Love (Formerly SexGen)" group, which is their customer support group.

Mine has this problem too. I put in an IM to their support 2 days ago, but no response yet

Contact Corsi Mousehold instead of Stroker. Corsi's customer service is extremely fast and courteous. Stroker has been slow to respond, though I don't know why.

Do we know yet if it is related to the new server code?

Incidentally, my problem has been resolved by Corsi Mousehold. She fixed six beds for me as I waited, and even gave me a free upgrade on one that didn't fix first try.

Apparently a week or so back, all version 5.0, 5.01 and 5.01a SexGen beds that were rezzed in-world lost a critical part of their scripted content. Model 5.1 and later and 4.X and earlier were not affected, nor were any beds that remained in inventory at the time of the asset server glitch (or whatever it was) that damaged these beds. I think that puts the timing just before the new server code release.

The SexGen people have had a steady flow of repairs to do for the last week or more, and Corsi Mousehold, in particular, deserves extreme commendation for customer service above and beyond merely fantastic levels. She has been putting in killer hours fixing not only Briggi's line of SexGen beds, but Stroker's as well, and deserves the highest possible praise.

I'm beginning to get a little annoyed with Strokerz toyz. I IM'd tech support on Monday and Tuesday about this problem, and as of now, I haven't gotten so much as an IM to say they're busy, and will I please be patient. I expected better.

I'll contact Corsi tonight when I get inworld, and try to set something up to get my bed fixed, but it seems pretty hard on her, when her employer isn't even the one I bought the bed from.

Ranting, I know... carry on everyone.

In all fairness, Stroker DID contact me a few hours after I had been taken care of by Corsi, and he would have been happy to take care of any of the products I had bought from his stores. Try sending Stroker Serpentine an IM or a notecard directly.

Allegria, I would take it from the word "onslaught" that perhaps your IM's may not have gotten through, due to system caps. There are probably thousands of people in need of help right now, just like you. I would suggest you try sending a notecard in addition to your IM's. Those don't get capped. Hopefully it won't take too much longer to get your problem solved.

You know, that's what people say. But the one time I had my IMs capped due to a serious onslaught of messages (when I was running a treasure hunt that required folk to send me an IM and transfer found items to me to win a prize) I also found that notecards (and sometimes the transferred found items) would sometimes get dropped by SL as well. It was *very* frustrating, for me and for the treasurehunters. So these days I'm less convinced by the "send a notecard if IMs are capped" concept, since the one time I relied on that, it seriously let me down.

Perhaps it works if your IMs are only a little bit capped? It certainly didn't work for me when I was deluged.

Hmm. Maybe there's an individual cap for each type of item. Anyone know?
