just curious as to if there were options for your credit card statement when buying lindens, "secondlife" would not go over so well :> thanks in advance. You can use a credit card to fund a Paypal account and use paypal to buy Lindens. Then your credit card statement would reflect the Paypal billing, not Secondlife. What's wrong with Secondlife on the statement? It's not like you're being billed by some internet porn site or anything. All you other people reading this, stop. No jokes about SL being a sleazy internet porn site. I'm giving a serious answer here for once. _____________________

I looked into that, but you have to add funds to a paypal account via a bank account, you can't charge a deposit. as for not having it on my statement, I'd rather avoid the chain of questioning altogether
I just like to maintain my privacy where I can and it's usually not an issue until money is attatched I could just say "don't read my creditcard statements", but it seems kind of severe in regard to what it is. I can't begin to imagine what kind of suspicion that would awaken lol |

I looked into that, but you have to add funds to a paypal account via a bank account, you can't charge a deposit. Not true. You have to have your bank account information attached to the PayPal account in order for it to be verified and accepted by LL, but you CAN set your credit card as the primary payment method. So, all purchases would hit the credit card and the bank info would just be there for back up. I think direct charges for SL say Linden Lab or Linden Research, though...not Second Life. _____________________

Nope, comes up as Second Life with my bank statements and that's a very recent billing. I wasn't sure. I've always used PayPal and it's listed as 'Linden Research, Inc.' in the payment history there. _____________________

I'm kinda in the same spot... I had to lie to my family about the 9$ I put in when I started saying it was an enrollment fee. (T_T) ... I would love to add more, but I already told them that my membership will be free from now on and they don't have to worry about repeated charges.
I wish I could have more control over my money... I'm working hard to make it newayz! (>_< ![]() _____________________

well as I said before, I don't have a banking account, my other does, I give her cash and she writes checks for my charge bill. She's careful about our finances to a fault, I've gotten yelled at for things like charging gas "ZOMG YOU HAVE TO PAY INTEREST ON THAT", it's a very delicate matter and any opertunity I can take to omit the one thing that frustrates me with our relationship with her I will.
![]() I guess I'll just take this as "stop being lazy and open your own banking account" since there's apparently no workable solution for my current circumstance ![]() |

No wonder people want to escape to Second Life. I feel for you, Sixes. But take comfort that in SL you won't get hit with the rolling pin (or at least it will be funny and you won't feel it). |

ok - here's your solution: Go to a grocery store with some cash. Buy a Visa Gift card. There's a couple dollars activation fee, but on a hundred dollar gift card, it's only around $6. They have them down to $25, I think. Activate the gift card online, use it to buy Lindens. Voila. No need for a separate credit card, no bank account, no statements sent to your house. You win.

You are so bad!!! I can neither confirm nor deny that this technique works to get money onto an online poker site where most other methods of funding are blocked as a result of the federal laws. Not that I would ever, ever, under any circumstances, play poker for real money on the internet, nor would I ever try to work around federal laws designed to keep me from doing so. I will maintain my innocence until my dying breath. (With my dying breath, I plan to confess to everything then expire, laughing like a hyena). _____________________

Trout you missed one benefit of the gift card method.
![]() IF your SL account should be hacked the worst you could lose on the gift card is the money left on it. With a bank account alot of damage canbe done before it is stopped. |

Your dying breath probably won't be long enough to confess all of the naughty things you have done wrong. I suggest you get started now. _____________________

I use my bank's Visa debit card to purchase Linden dollars, and on more than one occasion they have called me (via Chase bank robot) to ask me, "Do you accept the charges from the internet arcade site Second Life?"
One time SL refused to charge my card, and I had to call the bank's fraud department to make sure they didn't have LL blocked. When I re-entered my payment info, it allowed a Linden purchase; it was odd because I had purchased many times before with no problems. I wonder why my bank thinks LL is some kind of questionable arcade? lol... |
