Missing thread?

Hello all,

I posted the other day about what I had learned about positioning Xcite products. (Lots of fun reading the responses, btw.)

Anyway, I tried to find it today to see if anything had been added, and it just wasn't there anymore. I know it was there around 7am EST because my fiance was reading it then. But by around 1pm EST it was gone.

Any ideas how or why this might have happened? I searched through the TOS and I really don't think I violated any rules, but I've been known to be wrong before, so...

I vaguely remember that thread, but I don't know where it went. I can see that even if your post count is higher, you only show as having one post when I try to view your past posts. It must have been deleted. Maybe someone violated TOS on it ... Doesn't have to have been you, though.

I think naming names applies to products, too. Somebody probably complained and got the thread moved to the moderators forum..

I remember that thread.... very educational and enlightening! Guess somebody didn't like the subject matter thou, it does seem to be gone now. Imagine that to be very frustrating, it was such a GREAT first post. Don't let this stop you I am sure you have more in you.

It got locked and sent for Linden review for TOS violation. If you posted in the thread you should have gotten an IM about it - I did.

The latest form of moderation is to make threads disappear without notice or comment. It's a poor way to handle things. Hopefully it will change soon as they revamp the forums.

I posted to that thread and didn't get any IMs about it (from moderators, Lindens or anyone else). I also bookmarked it though coz I really enjoyed it; and now when I return to the bookmark I get "you do not have permission to access this page". So I guess it's gone. *sad look*

I agree Ray, I don't like threads just disappearing either. I was offline when I got the notification of a post just like any other. I take it back it was not an IM at all - I just have my IMs and forums post notifications go to the same email account.
When I looked at the notification it was Millie declaring that the thread had been locked and sent for Linden review. Here is the text of what I received: -

And it took HOW many pages for this to be figured out?

All the Second Life web services are treated as PG areas, so you need to tread lightly when discussing sexually related material. There were also some comments that it looked like marketing copy, so that probably didn't do good things for the thread's survival either.

Wasn't that a different thread entirely? I seem to remember Astacia's thread having Xcite in the title. but I can't find it either.
I don't like this style of moderation either

It's ironic that one of the largest past times and businesses in SL is sex related, yet SL bans its discussions from the forums, that's just fcuked up.

I don't know, might be the op was not too specific and this I knew had been locked and sent for review so I assumed they meant the one I got notice about. I could be wrong though lol - its not like its unheard of lol

Wow so two threads were misappropriated and were about sex? Is there a forum clamp-down or something?

If so, then obviously some people are taking things a little too fast.

Be gentle in your discussions. Take your time in approaching a delicate subject, and above all don't name any names. I assure you it'll be a much more pleasant experience.

The only good sex, is dirty sex, trust me I've been around LOL.
