From: June Oh I would like a quicker response when I TP to another location in SL, IE less Grey time and settling down time to seeing all. Don't we all. The res time from teleports is limited by network speed. It is pretty much capped where it is and there is little you can do about it. Of everything you see on your screen, very little of it is part of the Second Life program. This means that every time you tp somewhere, you have to download all those graphics from the server. Every face of every prim has a graphic. So it just takes time. It's part of SL, however, so everyone knows how you feel.

From: June Oh Do you advise extra cooling?
Shouldn't be necessary for a desktop, really. Changing the processor is effectively changing the mother board, and at that point you should probably just get a new computer. But yours looks fine for SL - the 7900 is I believe a darned good graphics card. Other things could be contributing to high CPU utilization - are you running any other apps while you run SL? Do you run it full screen or in a window? (in a window is higher CPU utilization). Is your disk running constantly (i.e. is SL swapping?). But I wouldn't worry. As another poster pointed out, high CPU utilitization numbers per se are not a huge worry with any 3D game. If your frames per second (fps) are good, say at least above 15 with that setup, you're doing as well as anyone.

From: Yuriko Nishi if your cpu is below 100% doesnt that mean that your gfx card is way too slow for your cpu? What? No. Though the other way round might be true. A slow graphics card means the processor has to do more work.

2.20 Ghz AMD Athlon 64 2 gb RAM GeForce 7600GS
2.20 Ghz AMD Athlon 64 3 gb RAM GeForce 7900GS
Do you advise extra cooling? Should I consider a change to the proceeser, is it possible to do, is it as easy as changing the memory/graphic card was, of course cost then is the question. These are questions that now arrise for me. I'm happy with the picture I get on my monitor, OK I would like a quicker response when I TP to another location in SL, IE less Grey time and settling down time to seeing all. Thanks June Hi june how are you............. If your over clocking i say you need more cooling but if your running a normal levels. You might want to cleanout your fans. Many are experiencing grey ibjects on a days bases since this last release. Do a little cleaning within the case and check the fans. They might be eitehr in a need of replacing or a good cleaning..........
