I recommend a security orb. Simple problem, simple solution. I find that I don't have to leave it on most of the time. If I start seeing a problem, I turn it on for a week or so, and the problem goes away. That's the problem with today's world. Stupid -automated- systems taking real peoples' jobs! _____________________

(Actually, between this and Lindal's blindfold, I'm not sure what what we're outfitting him to actually DO.) SL kid's lives are not necessarily filled with avoiding wild thangs. My kid AV was at a freebie place recently, and a woman asked if I was a kid (I responded that I was a kid AV, and an adult RL) and then rather insistently called me over. I thought I might be in for my first AR'able encounter, but it turned out she just wanted to show me a nearby climbable tree! She then shared her trials and tribulations trying to make a kid AV, and said her sister is making her a play area. I nearly went with her to look at it, but was afraid there'd be a Easy-bake oven and we'd have to play with it (being a kid was fabulous the first time around, but now this whole play thing gets old real fast!).  |

Is it unethical to use a child av to deter this sort of behavior? No. Is it unethical to file an AR on those who persist and are not deterred? No, they are obligated to read the TOS they agreed to when they signed up. Having sex around a child av is certainly an AR'able offense by itself, but does it become an "abuse" of the AR system when you're specifically using a child av because you know LL will likely react faster to an AR because of that circumstance? No, they are breaking the rules, you're not making them do it. Plus they are also knowing trespassers. I mean...someone's private home? Not cool. How many freaking beaches are in SL just for their poseball use. I mean, I guess if you're normally an adult av, and these people show up and don't leave when you ask them, it's likely not very honorable to very suddenly change INTO a child avatar and quickly take a picture and send an AR before they realize what's going on No, that would actually be creating the proximity of child image to lewd act YOURSELF, and YOU would be the one not only subject to TOS violation but also to federal laws. TOTALLY different if you are a child av and they come in and start at it, OR if you have a child bot and same thing, far as I know. (Then it is THEIR bad, they either didn't care or didn't look while trespassing, which was their dice roll.) People put the gaming first when it should be the law, which is a really serious federal offense. |

There's all kind of potential here. Firstly, young man, think Automation: Those GuardKids don't have to be real pretend kids, they can be *bot* pretend kids! And if they're all automated anyway, they may as well be Group-Invite GuardKidBots. While they're at it, they could also enforce the "Add us to your Profile Picks to activate our poseballs" rule. Or "Grant PERMISSION_DEBIT or lose your account for being seen with a nekkid underage AV." GuardKidNapBots. The only thing you left out was making them Bloodlines enabled. You could find the place by all the people leaving, running and shrieking... |

I think I agree with every part of your post. You know, I was thinking of it in terms of ethics, and completely missed this obvious application of the rules. Shows what happens when we start mentally tunneling, right? In my defense, I still arrived at "it's a bad thing to do", even if I took a different road to get there. _____________________
