The other issue, really, is how much I would pay for a gesture. I mean if the animations are available, and I don't really care for sound, how difficult it is for me to just build those together in a gesture and tie it to whatever trigger I want? not much, unless I have missed some subtlety in the process. That means that I'm probably not going to pay a ton for one either, if I pay anything. I guess I'm questioning how your business model is going to work...

From: Darkpoet Magne I have tried doing that with a few really good animations I have and so far only one person ever responded, and she vehemently refused to sell a copy of that animation full perm. If you look for me In-world from around 9-12 AM SLT I can show you some of the animations that I would love to have in full perm. Then I think you will have to make your own - but remember that whilst immitation is the sincerest form of flattery, people in SL are very protective of their IPR and will enforce copyrights. So try and create your own variation, rather than copy someone else's work. Please remember that a really good animation can be weeks of work - so it is understandable that animators are reluctant to sell full perm copies.

I'm just not au fait with this at all. I think the issue is the full perms Bilbo - to make a gesture you need to have full permissions on the component parts - otherwise they do not appear in the drop down pick list when creating the gesture.

I have to agree with Kalderi.
You are using full perms animations - a sad fact of SL is that most full perms items are freebies very quickly. You are not recording your own unique sounds either?
I make animations, sure I would consider selling you full-perms ones, but I could also just make the gesture then and sell that myself. Obviously I wouldn't do that to a customer (when I make an exclusive, it is just that), but animmators are going to want to charge you more for an animation if only you have it. And you have no real guarantee they are not going to resell it so others can make gestures iwth it too. Back to the beginning of this paragraph, heh.
Making a gesture with an animation and a bit of text isn't very hard.
Perhaps, if you are serious about gestures, you might want to investigate making your own animations?
I wish you all the best of luck, hon, but also think that if you want to succeed at this you need to be offering things that people can't easily get other places or do themselves.
