lost inventory item

At the mo, even tho hav cleared my cache( if that works?) i have lost a inventory item worth L800 i hav just purchased. What else can i try please?

A similar thing happened to me tonight. Clothes that i bought and one outfit suddenly disappeared while i was wearing it all are gone. It doesn't really bother me that i am out about 1300L, but it was really embarassing to have my clothes disappear while i am at a party.

Hi Sarita. You could try sending a message to the store owner where you bought it. Hopefully they can send you a replacement if thats what their policy is.

With all the failed transactions and Lindens I lost this past week I can say men understand too! Hopefully you get it taken care of.

Or it could be the new gimmick shopowners have now. You buy, they take back. But they should at least wait 'til you take them off, what nerve.

Sometimes it takes several cache clears to be effective, even when SL isn't being excessively borky. Deleting the entire SL Application Data folder can also work.

Look in the Lost and Found folder or in Objects. With what has gone on the last couple of days, anything is possible. A friend once lost something and found it months later in a completely different folder. He'd only taken the item to return it to his inventory folder and didn't realize it wasn't there until the next time he looked in it. It didn't show up when he typed in the name, a complete mystery why that didn't work at the time.

I lost a pack of makeups I bought, I did find it though, in my trash! I wouldn't have deleted it without unpacking it, how it got there I have no idea. Luckily I hadn't emptied my trash recently!

The problem seems to be that the asset servers are totally broken right now. I can't even load a notecard without getting both the "insufficient permissions" and "the request has timed out" errors. This actually has been a problem for over 24 hours now.

I'm convinced that nobody at LL has the faintest clue as to what they are doing. Hell, they can't even tell when their system is broken... Oh wait - that's ALL THE TIME now. I was going to buy a sim or two, but not until they get their sh** together.

It's fraud to charge for a service you KNOW you can't deliver. And they know it.

well I am quitting my purchases for a day or so. Just made another *smacks self in head* at my favourite shop in SL...so far...Pearl's. The clothing comes up as loading and does not have a option to replace my clothing. Same as what happened at gangsta mall. crap : ( My little alt is very upset.

You were set "Busy" when you bought them, you clicked "Decline" on the pop-up, or you have the seller muted are the normal reasons why that would happen.

*sigh*..I guess is good thing I'm a bit of a slob. I've been schlepping around building stuff and haven't bothered to change my outfit for several days.. at least it hasn't disappeared off my bod! lol I'm afraid to try to change now

SL ate my AO, and then ate the replacement one I made. Not in Trash, not in Lost & Found. It's v annoying.

At this point you might need a chisel to scrape them off.

In many ways you were actually lucky that it happened at the hangout. Stripping, while not a regular activity, does happen sometimes at night. Add to that the fact that even if you change clothes by simply replacing one item with another, SL sometimes like to show you naked during the switch. Therefore, we are used to such things there. If it happens again, I advice to just ham it up, pretending that was your intention all along - we will never know any different.

I keep hoping this happens for me. A couple months ago I lost 3 very nice pieces of furniture and a "one of a kind" sculpture as part of a grand prize I won at an event. I cleared cached and relogged multitudes of times, deleted the pertinent SL file...and still haven't seen them.

It would be a wonderful surprise for them to show up in my inventory some day.

Gangsta Mall had sent me a replacement on logging back in today. I cant remember the owners name , but a big thankyou publicly! I am rapt : ) Just waiting for Pearls to follow suit now.
At least i didnt buy a expensive skin like another thread mentioned, i would be totally freaked.
