Same with me. Crashes, TP problems, transactions failed ("stale," like a few days ago), not receiving IMs or TP offers, search wouldn't load. The blog has been updated:
"There are currently issues with in-world transactions, teleporting and related activity. We are working to address the issues as quickly as possible. Please refrain from transactions as necessary and keep an eye on this blog for further information." |

My last couple log ins, I look totally grotesque. Ruthed shapes with my skin & attachments.
Nothing on the blog since early this morning SLT. Scarey! Edit: Thanks Arch, I didn't see that more recent post. I'll go peek again. (helps to go to main blog page, rather than the Community page) |

Confirmed :\ again, two days in a row...
p.s.: i love you lindens, but this problem makes us sellers look like shmucks!!!!!! if there are deep basic money transaction probs, then i cannot refund!! (that is, not that i do -not- want to refund - the basic mechanism of passing money is affected and i -cannot- process a refund properly...)_____________________

And the blog post below that talks about them mucking around with the network infrastructure. Coincidence???
Maybe I'm just getting cynical. |

I'm having a few problems aswell.
Today i'm sporting a rather fetching easter bunny tail and ears. I tp'd somewhere and lost one of my ears! Shocking. It still hasn't turned up. At least when things go up your bum, you know where to look.. |

The Root of the Problem
03-22-2008 13:08
From my point of view as a retired software tester ALL of the problems we see in SL are due to data not getting from point A to point B.
Teleport Failure - your avatar info not getting moved from one sim/server to another Money Issues - the sim/server not talking to the back end money database Inventory Losses - your PC inventory list, the sim/server, and the asset databases being out of sync Group IM failure - goddam text not getting to all the sims that the recipients are connected to. and on and on. Now, the causes of data failing to get where it needs to go can be due to (a) not enough network capacity, or (b) unreliability of the data transfers. My guess is a combination, since right now, the player population is well below levels we have run at before without total breakage, but we seem to have more problems in general at peak times (weekend afternoons). |

And the blog post below that talks about them mucking around with the network infrastructure. Coincidence??? Maybe I'm just getting cynical. yah the 'ip subnetting' or renetting has been going on the past month, on and off. unfortunately the first round of it coincided with major sim software updates, so makes it a little hard to guess which is responsible (but i'd bet on the software update more than the renetting - purely amateur op though on my part ![]() _____________________

Maybe they should just make announcements for the periods the grid will actually be working...

I wish they would do the blue pop-up in world, like the sometimes do, when this happens. I bought a large mainland plot about the times these problems. |

Fewer people than usual would have seen those event postings anyway: The Category popup on the online Events page has been broken for over two weeks. Not sure what you all are saying here I set events every day (just a few hours ago as well) and have had no problem at all(cept for the problem sales and traffic are lagging ). I have to set the category to set the event and always have without an issue. Hope its not a harbinger of things to come. |

Unresolved :\
03-22-2008 20:39
i have been away to supper (after this afternoon's probs 'resolved'), and have gathered email - i have three more customer problems (one stale payment/unresponsive vendor; two successful payments/delivery notices from home vendors, but delivery did not make it thru to the customers). i've submitted a ticket... caution, everyone.

weekends produce the highest online count.... every single weekend. every single weekend we get this same exact thread full of the same exact complaints. the grid is overtaxed on weekends. the end.

Not sure what you all are saying here I set events every day (just a few hours ago as well) and have had no problem at all(cept for the problem sales and traffic are lagging ). I have to set the category to set the event and always have without an issue. Hope its not a harbinger of things to come. When someone goes to the Events page to view events, he should be able to select a category with the popup. Doing so should (and used to) filter the list to show only that category, which makes it easy to browse. The category popup, however, has not worked for over two weeks, and it's not feasible to browse through the entire day's list of events in all categories. If someone knows what term to search for, he can search on it, of course. But browsing is only an option for people with A LOT of spare time and patience. People can still use the inworld search tool to search for events. It's category popup works. I've checked this with two Macs using Safari and Firefox, and a friend has checked on a Windows machine. Same results. |

Ugh, the SIM containing my store is running horrible. Customers can't even rez hair because the SIM won't let attachments work. This is frustrating. I guess it is part of Second Life though and we get used to it. What would we do if it ran perfectly?
