Doh! I was looking in LindEx transactions.
I found the finally right place, but it wasn't real obvious.

Apparently SL is getting bigger so it's taking longer to pay these out.

How can you tell if you've received your stipend?
Is it supposed to show up in your transactions?
I upgraded to premium over 3 months ago and I've never seen anything in transactions.

Go to http://www.secondlife.com/account/transactions.php and you should see something like:

"Second Life Offline for Database Maintenance or Update

In our continuing effort to improve your Second Life experience, we have taken Second Life temporarily offline for maintenance. This may also effect portions of our website. We are working to re-open our doors as quickly as possible and we appreciate your continued patience. Or maybe it has something to do with this and someone is having the poor person posting the blog updates at it.

I got that message on the webpage, but, is SL dwn??? Or is it just that part of the webpage? The front of the site is showing that there is over 45k online. Confusing message to say the least lol

The "Offline for Maintenance" is actually for the same sort of reasons that the stipends "are running behind"

The Blog currently has an update on the stipends:
"After discussing this in more depth with our developers, it turns out that this process isn’t running behind at all… Second Life has just gotten bigger! As we continue to grow, and as the number of stipends increases, the process that controls their distribution will take longer to run. While we are still committed to getting all stipends out on Tuesday, it may no longer be first thing Tuesday morning as it has been in the past.

More stipends to pay out - takes longer. See?
SO: Start the stipend run earlier, and then everyone gets their stipend by the usual deadline.

It's the same for Maintenance.
The grid gets bigger and more complex all the time. (Just you wait for the Restiction/Verification update code folks!)
There's way more issues to arise following a Wednesday update, which problems run into the weekend, sometimes necessitating an other quickie update just before closing time on Friday.
SO:
Start the problems *before* the Wednesday update!!! That way, all the problems can be resolved before the weekend.

It's simple really when you think about it.

You think this doesn't make sense???
You want sense??
You want sense?????????

I'd just like to announce that I've been having a very pleasant Linden experience today. I can view my transaction history, but when I download it, the Excel file is completely blank save for the column headers. After seeing this for several days, I submitted a support ticket at 11 am this morning, and Teeple Linden jumped right on it. S/he's sent me a couple of responses, asking for more info, and we've talked back and forth. I'm just all tickled right now. :)

The sky is falling!!!

Tuesday is over and I haven't received my stipend yet!!!

The sky is falling!!!

(The downside of having Friday start early in Germany is that Tuesday ends early, too.)

The sky is falling!!!

You know, almost every time I hear a love-the-Linden story, it's about Teeple. And from my personal experiences with him, I completely agree... Teeple is a wonderfully helpful person, and funny and nice, too. I hope he gets a nice year-end bonus. :)

(BTW, he was a male av the time he came out to help me with some ghost prims a while back.)

I and my sister livinglight are still waiting for the 300 L that we are suposed to get every week. i do not own land, and subscribe to this to get 300l a week and it does not seem fair that it should take this long, when at times you are waiting to get 300l to pay off a fee you have or to do something else, i like that they are trying to improve different things, but something like this someone who payes them monthly should not have to wait for.
i thank you for listening and hope you have a good day.

Ok, I just got my stipend (been spelling it wrong all this time) but not the group payout that I figured would come at the same time. While I am no longer waiting for stipend I am eagerly awaiting the other *pokes LL a few times*

Since you don`t own land, Just cancel your P account and buy the $300L, cheaper that way.

The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

What really leaves me indignant is my *alt* got her stipend at about 1:30pm today. I'm still waiting!

What's up with that? I went premium in 12/06, more than a month before her, and *she* gets her stipend first?

How do they distribute it? It's not by join date or the date you went premium, obviously. It's not alphabetical either, or she'd be waiting till Wednesday.

Is it just random? Is it chaos? Is it last-in-first-out?

Or is this karmic retribution for using my alt as a target / experimental subject for various weapons and orbiting tests, for shoving her into the ocean when she's AFK, and generally treating her like a second-class second-life citizen?

My alt is laughing at me.

Edited to add: And another thing! I thought the last set of stats showed the number of premium users went down recently... doesn't that mean less stipends to process, rather than more? Why is it taking longer this week than last? I blame my alt...somehow she's behind this...

-Atashi :)

I've always guessed it's done with an algorithm though I can only guess how that would even work, login dates and frequencies and the phases of the moon probably have something to do with it.
