"Carpool" must be office jargon for something related to working production issues - a test grid?
As for half the Lindens not being around, the overall boffishness of their communication tonight...
I guess on a Saturday night the people with slick communication skills are probably 9-to-5'ers, and only the senior infrastructure leads would get sucked in for an obvious network issue. If I had to go in to work on a Saturday night I'd be grumpy and anxious to get out of there too.
Infrastructure guys aren't well known for communication skills, and we're talking about people who routinely have to work nights/weekends & holidays because that's when their work has the least impact on the company. Also, the money's not all that hot...mind you, its still technical wage scale, but...making 1/3 less than the 9 to 5 software developer down the hall kind of sucks considering the hours.
I can't believe I'm defending the Lindens...

From: Cocoanut Koala Not everyone got the lovely "close the carpool" message.
I tried IM'ing Nicole to find out what it was about, but got a canned message, "Hi! I don't accept IM's! Please visit the Support Portal!"
Guess what I think they can do with their support portal.
coco Shove it up their portal! I imagine.

It was a weird one alrgiht. I had rezzed my AM Pro Motors '70 Charger in Noyo looking for some roads to run on (SWEET ride by the way! ). Anyway, I was in the middle of fighting the car going 100's of meters above or below ground on each sim crossing when I got that message. I stopped the car and thought about it for a second and had one of those DiNero "You talkin' to ME?!?" moments. *Off topic - the roads over there leave a lot to be desired and sim crossings are some of the worst I've experienced BUT there's some pretty cool scenery and interesting things to see.
