I'm sorry. I didn't mean to sound like I was mocking anyone. I really did lose my socks, but further investigation has shown that my dog was at fault. Sorry for jumping to conclusions. :D

It must have been a ferret. *looks suspiciously at Argent*

As for the viral object in question in the thread: Some write it off as user responsibility because it must be clicked upon to allow taking money. But, who hasn't been away from SL a while and sighed at the next log-in, as they clicked through a stack of announcements/offers while barely paying attention? Or who hasn't clicked on something they thought was something else, due to unfortunate timing?

Example: A friend IMs "I am sending a teleport" You reply, "Okay." You look away from the screen a moment, hear a ping, and click 'return' - but it turns out to be some ad, or worse, a Bloodlines invitation or other awful, uninvited clicky thing.

Now if that had been a demand for money, ouch.

I once bought a 'freebie' box and when I rezzed it to try to open it, it popped up with a yellow box wanting some money. I barely noticed it in time, as some other group announcements and such began appearing at the same time, and I was trying to rapidly click through them all. So it isn't always down to someone reading it and somehow not understanding the words "allow debit" - and that's I'm sure how they get most people.

That's why the box to allow something to take money from you is a lot larger. It's impossible to click it accidentally while clicking away other things, as the place where you have to click to authorize it isn't anywhere remotely close to the other things you're already clicking on. It forces you to look at what you're doing.
