Missing items?

Hi all
I wanted to know something, or what I can do to fix this situation. I had rented some land and i have two avatars, i placed items from both avatars on the land, and i left afterwards and asked the lady who owns the land to return them to me with the auto return, it has been months and i still havent received the items for either account. What do i do in this situation, i mean not one item is back. it is over 10000 dollars in items i didnt receive back and i want them back, how do i go about getting them.

If they came back, they'd end up in the Lost & Found folder of the owners. (They're not there, right? Probably all in one or more "coalesced" object bundles that look like little stacks of blocks in Inventory.)

It's not as if the land lady could steal them, but it's possible that the objects were never auto-returned and are just where they were before (have you checked?). It's possible that they got "lost" in the return (rare, although the more of them, the more likely some won't make it), or they're returned and "hidden" by a corrupted viewer cache (tried clearing cache and relogging?).

Two more dire possibilities come to mind. If you *deeded* the items to group, they're gone for good (the group becomes the owner, so there's nobody to whom they can be returned). Or, the sim could have been wiped completely without anything getting returned.

i have no clue what these stacks are supposed to look like, i did check for the items in the sim, they arent there, i cleared my cache nothing.

If i lost those items for good i will nto be a happy camper, these were expensive, very good quality items

it looks like mini building blocks. That happened to me when I rezzed a big thing in a sandbox and crashed. It came back in one package looking like little blocks glued together in my lost and found folder

You can make a "coalesced object" yourself by rezzing a bunch of junk somewhere, then selecting all the objects at the same time, and doing Take from the pie menu; the resulting stack of blocks will show up in your Objects folder in Inventory, named for one of the objects in the bunch.

And so that's the tricky bit about managing the contents of the Lost & Found folder: if it's a coalesced object, the name only refers to one of the things inside, hiding all the other treasures it contains. It may be helpful to go to a sandbox to rez coalesced objects--that way there'll be plenty of space and prims available to rez it all, and you'll be able to use Edit : Tools / Select Only My Objects to find all the pieces that may be scattered around.

Of course, if there's nothing like that in your Lost & Found then... either it got eaten by the Asset server (and LL has been on a mission to recover a lot of that stuff--see /327/45/272658/1.html), or (hate to say this) maybe you deleted it yourself from Lost & Found because the good stuff was hidden inside a coalesced object named "Object" or something useless.
