I was curious when the all time highest number of users were logged in to these forums. The answer was July 19, 2006 when 3632 residents crowded this forum at 4:23 PM wanting to know....

"When will the grid be back up?"

(Apparently, it was an update day and the update had gone ok...then not ok and they took the grid back down again.)

Hehe. Remember update days? You kids ain't got nothin' ta whine about today. Get off my lawn.

Anyway.

What was going on on the forums? Here was the thread list...which just goes to show you, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Ummm, Tengu...
Those of us a bit more familiar with lengthy snow events would suggest that you invest less in perishable foods and more in stuff that keeps well when the power goes out.

First, you'll see a sort of intense rosy flash in the distance, which will quickly grow to a blinding intensity. You'll hear nothing; by the time the sound wave reaches you, you'll already be dead.

From our end of the line, we'll hear a sort of screeching that will be the sound of the plastic in the computer console melting.
