My avatars refer to the person that types their words as either "my Player" or "the person behind the keyboard".
From the standpoint of my Avatars, my Player is some sort of nebulous Kami or Demi-Goddess who controls their fate, and whose presence and state of mind they are vaguely aware of. Like knowing when their Player is tired, and insisting on retiring for the night. When speaking OOC, my avatar's Player is "Me", but with one important exception. If you're talking to me while I am logged in as one of my female avatars, I'll inevitably refer to my real self as female, and using feminine pronouns; while if I am logged on as one of my male alts, HE will refer to his real self as being male, and using male pronouns. So even if you know that the male alt and my female main characters are run by the same real-world person, you still don't know, for sure, that person's actual gender. _____________________

My avatar is me and I am me.
The only time I refer to me as the 'typist' is when I am trying to shift the blame for typos. |

I call my human "stupid" as in "Hey stupid, you let me fall in the water again!" "Hey stupid, my nose is stuck in the dance floor!" "Hey stupid, I'm stuck under this wall!" "Stupid, you're humiliating me in public!"

Generally I don't distinguish between RL me and Wulf, just leave it to context. So if I say "I've had a lot of lag today" "I" means Wulf, if I say "I think I'm coming down with flu" "I" means RL me, but most of the time "I" means both of us.

Ususally just "me,," though sometimes "RL Me" or "My player" or even, once or twice, "My RL avatar." typically just me unless I need to be specific for some reason.

I call her mom, since she made me and even tells when it's time for me to go to bed.

Some days I feel that Aes is almost, but not quite, entirely unlike another me.
But then in many ways I am she, as she is me, as we are me and we are both together... Or Something. Look, it's complicated. -- Aes |

I call her mom, since she made me and even tells when it's time for me to go to bed. I also have had conversations with people where RL matters were discussed as if they were part of SL. For example: "I can't be here at 9 because I have a meeting then, but I will be back by 11." or the person I was talking with about our kids (neither of us have kids in SL). So for me and for many others, SL is an extension of RL (or vice-versa). Mary |

i refer to the person behind the keyboard as
"my silly player" "my dumb player" as in, "my stupid player has to go do grown-up stuff now" Sometimes I get a reaction like "Hey! be nice to your player!" _____________________

I sit exactly in the middle between the roleplay crowd and the RL chatroom crowd. I have no "character" like RP'ers and no RL available for discussion. I am my avatar and she is me. I experience the things she does inworld with total immersion but am never a contrived personality. I dont discuss anything RL other than the normal chatter about work hours, weather, AFK, etc... What I (my AV) sees and does inworld is the extent and limit of my SL, and for all purposes I live through her. I don't "add" extra stuff to who she really is with RP fiction, and I don't strip away part of her total SL self to focus only on RL things. My AV's body and abilities mixed with my mind, heart, and personality is what Dana is in the context of SL. Never more, never less.

I agree with Dana (my sl next door neighbour actually). I what I am but teh "me" in the game is the "me" in sl so you get teh same reactions you would get if you talked to teh real me. It's just more sense to make Jig as close as possible to me without my direct personal info since I make that as private as possible with some information so that I am not entirely a blank space. But no one believes what avitars say about their real selves.

No. I am the walrus. I am legally obligated to offer the obvious rejoinder: Goo goo g'joob. |
