New update: The PGE guy is putting a recording voltmeter on the house for a week. Sigh. We'll see. In the meantime, I'll take people's advice and get a good UPS for the systems. Might as well, huh?

Only the ones that this site http://www.optimizingpc.com/optimize/windowsservices.html listed as being okay to disable. If I wasn't sure, I left it as automatic or manual. For the most part, they were things like wireless automatic setup, etc. A rare occasion where I can offer technical advice. *Basks in the glow of helpfullness. |

So Voltmeter guy never did show up, and now it takes a full reboot of my computer, then a shutting down of all non-essential System and User processes to get a non-jittery SL.
Smart People have suggested a) a new CPU b) a new graphics card Which would you guys recommend? I am running a dual core CPU; I seem to remember something a long time ago about SL and dual cores... what, if anything, should I change? Latest drivers have been installed for graphics card. I'm at the end of my rope! _____________________
