Won't allow access, or just gives you an intimidating warning message?

Try removing the card, plugging the monitor into the onboard monitor connection and rebooting. Let the cpu revert back to the onboard graphics. Then shut down and follow the install directions for the specific vid card. When you boot up with the new video card the computer should "see" it and attempt to install, a normal move would be to cancel the attempt to install thru windows and install it difectly from the cd provided with the vid card.
Remember to update to the latest drivers too from the graphics card mfg website.
on XP to get to the device manager click on the start button and then right click on "my computer" and choose properties then hardware. You should see your video card listed on the display heading.
good luck!

That sounds like a warning, not an error, which means you should be able to continue.

Ohhh, you might want to read this thread /327/c0/291434/1.htmland /327/95/286499/1.htmlApparently, your card is too new for SL to recognize? Beyond that.. I really can't help. Although the error does sound like one I had a while back, which was a quicktime error, causing a crash.

Had to uninstall Quicktime and then reinstall. I do hope that works for you!

ok with all the comments, i checked the drivers and graphics card but they weren't the problem..........I also did wot raudf reckoned and downloaded 7.5 quick play which has at least allowed me to get on line..ty for that..stuff all messed up a bit but i ain't complaining...however i have to clear cache every time on relog and sometimes reload sl prog. to maintain this. I hear a large inventory or small cache size (any optimum size suggested), may be my problem here. I don't inhabit graphically intensive areas, but it still isn't right.
Any more comments appreciated. I wasn't aware the series 9000 cards were poor for sl? ho hum thanks anyways guys, at least i have managed to get on-line and that's something at this stage.

From: Toy LaFollette they arent supported yet in SL, better? Yup. Not supported <> Not working well... Of course, there can be problems with not supported hardware, but that doesn't has to be the matter. Morwen.
