The UK government are talking of nationalising them but others suspect Virgin will just take over.

Where did the banks in SL go? The pixies stole them. They only ever contained fairy gold anyway, so it was bound to happen. _____________________

Poof Your knowledge of the sexual orientation of the OP might or might not be accurate. Nevertheless, there is no excuse for such displays of homophobia ![]() |

huh? ![]() "Poof" or "poofter" is brit slang for a gay man. Sling was pointing out a word play. For Alicia: All SL "banks" not registered or chartered as a financial institution in Real Life were prohibited by LL effective today, January 22. This policy was adopted by Linden Lab to prevent residents losing their L$ in future collapses of ill-run "banks" or outright scams, following the collapse of Ginko Financial and other SL "banks" in the previous months. LL posted a blog entry on this new policy nearly two weeks ago, and there has been much discussion of the policy and its potential effects on this and other Second Life forums. For those of you who are concerned, my bank is still operating and is still gladly taking deposits. As you can see I have all the necessary credentials.

There are no Virgins in the Banking Industry i beg to differ, If you have time to run a bank in SL (or rl for that matter) you probably are still a virgin. not to say that they dont like to screw people, just not in person....... _____________________

And the world wide stock markets, reacting to today's final bank ban in Second Life, plummeted.

There's, uh, probably a lot of things you didn't know about lindens. Another, another interesting, uh, lindenism, uh, there are only three jobs available to a linden. The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

Where did the banks in SL go? as a mentor one would think you would keep up on the active happenings in SL so you could be informed as to what is happening strange how this has been on the blog, and all over the forums, yet you did not know (and of course mentioned in the group chat a few times) _____________________

The UK government are talking of nationalising them but others suspect Virgin will just take over. It would be funny to see the Newcastle United players running round with "Virgin" printed on their shirts. Not to mention all those Geordie's who have to buy the latest shirt. |

Fear not we still can use virtual credit cards from Meta and lose money in stock exchanges. Yes, I saw that on a visit. I think the position with the WSE needs to be clarified via Linden Labs. It would be sad if the owner (and shareholders) within the WSE are unable to opperate within SL (or use Lindens as a means of exchange) but my own view is that their business may be in breech of the Linden rulkes regarding financial speculation/financial services. Unless the owner/controller is an authorised person, or unless they gain a dispensation from Linden Labs I fear that to be the case |
