If LL decided to completely separate access to Zindra and ghettoise it, and that an avatar could only access *either* the Adult or the PG/Mature parts of SL (for argument's sake, ignoring the alt option - lots of people are so committed to just one avatar) which one would you choose?

I would, of course, choose Adult.

Your vote is publicly viewable by the way. If you don't want to be named, don't vote.

This question is impossible to answer for me, as I would go where the majority of the users go. For my businesses I do need clients, and if moving to Adult means that most of my clients are unable to visit my stores, it is a wrong choice.

I live a rather PG second life by choice but I do understand that it is my exactly that: my choice.

I selected Adult because it is rather much like an umbrella and is much more inclusive of the other options. Adult doesn't have to be strictly Adult, it also includes PG and Mature. Choosing Adult will still leave me in a place of making personal decisions based on what I want to experience while spending time inworld.

Currently most of my social time in SL is spent in an Adult sim (although rarely involving what LL specify as Adult activities). If I had to choose, that's where I'd stay.

I'd miss the many PG/Mature stores I frequent, but I'll take the social aspect over shopping.

Adult? i have adult things in RL already, which are way better in all perspectives then the virtualized one. (teasing remark: i guess the folks who dissagree on this, don't have a good adult life in RL at all :p )
No need for Adult activities in SL anymore.

So, PG/Mature remains.

I'd go Adult because, if they really did partition grid access by content rating, the PG/Mature grid would have no economy worth noticing, except maybe a few straggler corporates and educational institutions. And we all know how much they spend in-world once they've got their facilities built-out (not one thin L$).

It's not that I'm so eager to make L$s myself, but that we all would be pretty much compelled to follow those who "follow the money." If it were impossible to get Adult content on one grid, and possible to get it and everything else on another, there's just no question where the money would go.

I'd just point out that, given the stated assumptions, the separate "Adult-capable grid" would be very different from Zindra as it is now. (And even given the current situation of free transport from Adult to PG/Mature, my guess is that in a few months, Zindra will be very different from Zindra as it is now.)

I personally would choose to have the terms unambiguously defined.

In the absence of that...I do like pie! :D

I'd go (Adult) and land the largest, most PG themed build I could possibly put together. (^_^)y

I joined a service that was for Adults. A service that required everyone to be over 18, and at the time I joined, required at least a cursory check of identifying information for each individual that got an account. A service where Adult activity (except on a few sims of PG land) was perfectly acceptable.

If forced to choose that, or a watered-down "family-friendly" service, I will stick with what I signed up for in the first place. If I wanted a PG or G-rated service, I never would have joined SL in the first place. I was already part of a very satisfying PG-13 limited roleplaying community when my friends started migrating to SL, precisely because it WAS an Adult environment.

I'm an adult, I can choose what to be or not be offended by and where to go, stay or TP the hell away from.

It's that simple.

Exactly. I joined SL in 04 on my first avie. Even if i wasn't doing *adult things* i want the freedom to do whatever i please, and obviously that is no longer the case on anything BUT adult land. respect everyone's right to do as they please.. but they should respect ours too. I hope once the auctions and broad knowledge of this goes out.. Zindra becomes the new mainland, simply so people retain the freedoms they signed up for in SL.

Actually, I think we'll have a better chance of winning the lottery than figuring out the information from the Lindens.

I would go for Adult. Not because I engage in activities that are labeled "adult" but because I think there would be less headaches.

I'd expect it to be more tolerant and less issue-obsessed than a partially PG realm.

I would expect a welcome absence of self-appointed moral vigilantes. Since I'm an adult, I'm quite able to navigate away from things I don't want to see all by myself.

Also, I'm pretty sure that most of the people I know and like would be there.

ETA - the four posts before mine, from Immy, Ceera, Aeslyn, and Brieanne - I agree with those sentiments completely.

Adult. That's where the store needs to be, and it's also how I've flagged my sims, including the one where I live in SL. The residential sims are Adult primarily because that seems to be the closest to what I thought I was buying when I paid Linden Labs all that money for "Mature" and what the tenants thought they were moving to.

I would probably have to own both Mature and Adult long run.

Some of the family cannot Aristotle verify as the information that is wanted is actually illegal in their country of residence to give out. I suspect long run more and more plots will not only require payment info but aristotle verified. That is going to prove problematic for many people. SO for those folks yeah I would have to have mature land.

For myself I prefer the freedom Adult land provides but I am in no hurry to buy any. I am in wait an see mode.

This, 'cos you can be PG in an Adult sim if you really want to, but you sure as hell can't do it the other way around :p

Adult includes PG and Mature, so it's a silly question.
