I found this thing on the ocean floor in the middle of nowhere yesterday:



It's yours. So what's that all about - and, how on earth did you get it on a no-build, protected Linden parcel?

Did Magellan Linden ever turn up?

As far as I know, Magellan hasn't turned up, and the thread about the search for him died out. That thing in the water was a fake clue that Sling put out there as a joke. The fact that it's on no-build Linden land may suggest that Sling is a witch. Or maybe it's just object-entry enabled with no auto-return.

I'd considered that. But the nearest rez-point I could find (I was looking for a place to rez my ship anyway) was like three sims away. Heh, imagining Sling dragging that thing across three sims makes me laugh.

He's not the only one that did it, though. See that grey, kinda large square to the northeast on my minimap? That's....well, you really don't wanna know what that is. But it IS disguised to look exactly like the ocean floor around it, so whoever built it really thought it out. Kinda.

Sounds like a trebuchet might have done the trick - apparently they can fling things for miles

Actually. If someone can drop the copy-perm stuff on me, I can make it give out the Magellan kit.
It's surprising how many people stumble across it. It's got a visitor list.

Its location is just an oddity of the way SL is.

I was thinking the same thing.

I can't quite make out the name of the sim. I can't get anything that looks like that to show up in search.

What is the region name?

The sim is Demien. But if you haven't seen...it...yet, you're too late. It's not there anymore. Sling's thingy is, though.

Aww! Darn. So give us a hint, what was this mystery object?

A kit like the one I have in my store in Bay City. Look for the big milk carton.

It was a one-floor four-room structure, containing (among other things) a weird cage and a bed with some bluntly-named poseballs.

Far more interesting, as I mentioned earlier, was the exterior. It was designed to look like a kinda low hill on the sea floor. It was smooth-edged, and the exact same texture as the terrain around it.

Try Zebrazil (200, 232, 26), it's just a stone throws away from the red herring. It's a headland on some island mysteriously owned by the 'Linden Department of' I rezzed my boat there just five minutes ago. You have to be accurate though, move a few steps away and you can't rez..very mysterious

Well, heck, that's not very exciting! I thought it was going to be something bizarre.

In the extreme South:

There's a Linden boat-rezzing area in the NW corner of the Lordshore sim.
There's a buoy in the water to help you find it. THe area is cut so that you can stand on the shore in one of the little bays and rezz if you don't want to do it on the fly.

The area is quite nicely done, although the cliffs look a little strange where the old land meets the new Linden sims. It's a bit of a nightmare to match the terrain between the old regions that used to be cut off and the new region added recently.
I have a parcel on the Western edge of Pogon sim - opposite the island. LL were kind enough to smooth the join from my land to theirs/


In the extreme North:
There's a Linden boat-rezzing area in the middle of the Ensel sim.
A buoy marks the spot


In between:
There's a new spot in the water under the Volcano.
Ichelus 57,154. A buoy marks it again.



Side note:
Work on Ichelus island is coming along. There is an extensive Tiki camp there now.
There's a notice to the West of the Volcano giving a countdown to the next eruption.
The modern diving board over the volcano crater is a nice touch for the type of virgin sacrifice that doesn't want to get their feet scuffed on rock ground while being shoved in the fires.





My parcel in the NW corner of the Kang Nae sim is build for all with a 5 minute autoreturn.
Sometimes it's difficult to get into the sim because of THAT F***ING CLUB AND IT'S CAMPERS.

The Magellan Red Herring is mid-way along the boundary between Demien and Shamon

I was flying around the Linden owned houses the other day...there's a where is magellan missing poster on one of the Linden homes... I can't remember which Linden house though (cause it's Saturday and I am not awake yet).

That's the one I've been using.

So are some of the Linden's looking for Magellan Linden too now?
