I think its best to rearrange on the mainland grid, all the PG sims into PG continents for those interested in SL with the secondlife grid philosophy in mind. These new PG continents would be for those interested in education, charity support groups, small business', scripters, builders.......basically everything but Mature content

The problem of having a PG sim (as well as Mature) bordering Mature content is self-explanatory.

I'll get right on that...

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

I don't think LL would ever do this, they've stated in the past that it would destroy sim borders. Imagine if you will, your PG sim is suddenly placed next to a sim with the land 50m higher than yours. You have a build right on the edge of the sim, and suddenly it's half-buried as the landscape 'reconnects' itself right on top of your house.

Now imagine this happening to a huge amount of population, many of which have chunks of land sitting untouched while they're not even in SL. Major eye sore alert.... mismatching land and plateaus everywhere.

Ouch...

When the teens get here, isn't it all going to be PG? Except the flagged naughty parcels?

I'd be happy to oblige, but I delegated those responsibilities to a group I call the "Lindens."

I keep them busy removing gambling devices and installing intermittent undocumented features.

Unfortunately, the time to do that rearanging was about 4 continents of Mainland ago. Now, it's like trying to convert an "all-MS Windows" corporation to running Linux desktops. Too much inertia. The PG sims are scattered amid Mature sims with absolutely no rhyme or reason to their positions.

What they would need to do would be to create a new continent or two and designate it / them as PG-only. Perhaps shape the PG continent's coastlines like a certain well-known mouse's head. :p So there's no doubt it's the "Family Friendly" part of SL.

Then offer a LL-run program for the owners of PG land elsewhere in SL, giving them the chance to swap their existing parcels, across the board, for the same amount of land in one of the new PG-only continent. Have LL hold the parcels until all the PG landowners are gone, and then re-designate the sim as M-Rated and auction it off again.

I can imagine a lot of the people who categorically refuse to verify their age with Aristotle would appreciate being able to move to a sim that is all PG-rated, with none of the Adult content that they apparently don't want to access.
