I've trade IM's with the lady that booted us from Blarney Stone. No hard feelings there. She said she over-reacted a bit because there were so many of us.

What would you do if 20 chickens suddenly turned up? Anyway they'll be talking about that all night at the Blanrey stone no doubt *grins* |

A great time was had by all last night... god knows what you lot got up to after I left. Thanks to Amy for coming up with the idea in the first place - you are a surrealist genius, y'know that?
![]() I've put my best shots up on Flickr... I would have taken more but snapshot seems to have gone all treacly-slow over the last two days. http://www.flickr.com/photos/22356146@N04/2705186466/ |

I didn't get many snaps but this is my fave http://www.sluniverse.com/snapzilla_snapshots/Amy_Stork_Postcard_from_Second_Life._295702.jpg I think for the next Chicken Run we should arrange with sim owners in advance and focus on interesting locations that would make exceedlingly bizarre photos... Any suggestions? Any of the "RL" places in Sl might be fun - like mexico |

Had a fantastic time yesterday! But, I agree that we should find a better way to organize next time. I know something was wrong with the notices which would have been the best way to get everyone to an agreed starting point. However, it still was a lot of fun for those of us who did form one group, and we did manage to eventually muddle our way into a semi-cohesive state
I have pix on Flickr too, kind of haphazard since I was visiting relatives and trying hard to pay attention to both at the same time which wasn't easy hehe. Absolutely can't wait for the next one! _____________________

Since I had to work and group chat wasn't working, I missed the run. I did, however, buy a chicken suit and show up randomly, dancing the funky chicken in support of chickens everywhere.

i think, to keep from making trouble AND to make it more fun for curious onlookers, we should absolutely treat every stop the same: that being, like "streaking".
run through, get out, and move on. even accidentally invading a private party probably would not have been as intrusive, and possibly even fun for them, if we had come in, run in circles or through the middle and then got out rather quickly. we should be swift and stealth. staying too long at any one place is what causes the ejecting/banning. i hate to get banned. because then i can't go back later to places that i'd really like to explore. 'twas fun in general, and fun to see a giant chicken, lots of small chickens, a couple of teeny chickens, and one itty bitty chicken all in the same spot. very silly. ![]() _____________________

Did anyone have any negative repercussions from the Chicken Run?
I got kicked out of a group ... a group I quite cherished ... and told I had been "tied to griefing". I'm not criticizing that group owner, but I simply *do* *not* *understand*. The Chicken Run is the only thing in my whole brief history that might even come close to being called "griefing" and I was curious if any of you other running chickens had similar experience. I suspect there has been a misunderstanding. |

I suspect there has been a misunderstanding. Yeah - I suspect there has been - Chicken Run is not a griefing outfit it's about a bunch of folks who want to run around dressed as chickens and not harm others obviously. However the general consesnus is that we need to get permission first & make our runs short and sweet. I would point the group owner at this thread is they have any concerns it has been said several times that we dont want to get a reputation for griefing when really it's just a bit of harmless (and admittedly slightly nutty) fun |

I just wanted to say how much fun I had during the Great Chicken Run of 2008!
I met so many people that I previously only knew from your posts here in the forums. I was a bit star struck by some of you, lol, your so prolific in the forums that you are virtually famous to me. ![]() It was a great time and I sincerely look forward to doing this again! btw...I can't find the chicken run group in the group search, could some one toss me an invite? Cheers! FaTeke _____________________

Derfel, maybe you can talk to the powers that be in that group and show them this forum thread. It's pretty clear here what the idea was and that it's not intended as griefing but rather as good clean poultry fun.

Hiya Derfel,
If you need a "character witness" or if there is any other way I could help clearing things up with that group, I'd be glad to help. I did get a chuckle that someone I've only ever seen in a Mastodon AV, got in trouble running around as a chicken. On another note, I like the idea of advanced planning and advance notice to the places we will go. With a little effort and a little luck we may start getting invited to make "special guest appearances". Of course they may have to be rated "mature", at least until we can get Sylvia covered with feathers. LOL _____________________

I was not able to make the chicken run, but I did get the avatar the same day and did run around the shoe expo and then later a live music event.
