I think this thread makes it absolutely clear that LL must act against bots somehow - not because of the search gaming, but because of the social effect. *snort* No, you see they blame the social issues on OS's.... One thing I'd have to ask is how is LL to know what's a bot and what's not? Or they could just limit the number of contiguous connections to 5 per IP. That might help alot, because it'd make it more expensive for the bot runners. _____________________

One thing I'd have to ask is how is LL to know what's a bot and what's not? One possibility would be for the server to force them to bake their textures. Most bot clients don't include the graphics engine, so they couldn't do so. |
