Well... I was thinking about making another alt to hold money for a group (Donations, the alt would get no other money, and it keeps me from accidentally spending it with my own L$) and trying to decide what a good name would be. I've already used the two I normally use, Kaddaj and Okiphia
So..looking for inspiration... how'd you come up with your name?
Okiphia was randomly generated by Everquest 2 for my dark elf female wizard I first made and I loved it.. Fatali would have been the surname if I could've.
Kaddaj was the first name I had generated from Everquest 1, it was my first Vah Shir (Cat) Shaman male... loved that name too.. so I've used them both for a while now ^^

I generated a money holding alt for the cartel project, and came up with the remarkably creative name: CartelTrustAccount Mumfuzz. It described what he did, was unlikely to be confused with another account, and made it really easy for me to keep a separate accounting of the funds for the project. I never really considered him mine, although he is certainly my alt. I sort of consider him to be group property. I chose Mumfuzz because the name made me laugh.

I got the last name of Slade, and liked it a lot, but couldn't think of a last name to go with it. Slade sounded rather earthy, so I Googled a baby name website and looked for names that meant "rocks" or "stone" or "earth."
After going through a few choices, I found "Eben" which is Gaelic for "stone." Not quite sure of it, I Googled "Eben" and found it was the name of Superman's father in the 1950s TV show. That made it a double-match because "Slade" is the name of another DC comics character, the villain Deathstroke from Teen Titans. One of my alts got the last name of "Ireland" so I looked for cities in Ireland. Kilkenny is a town there, and I couldn't resist the thought of some evil AV shouting "Kill Kenny Ireland!" Thus, Kenny Ireland was born! Look for coincidences when you pick a name, it'll lead to a more natural choice. |
