From: Viktoria Dovgal Frankly I don't believe that the whole story is being told here. They would never have inquired as to the nature of your business if you were simply asking them to roll some coins. You were asking for a more involved banking relationship than that. hhmm in the usa I have 3 busniess accounts all wanted to know the nature of my company even who was on the board and the accounts are pretty basic busniess accounts. btw most countrys banks will ask what type of company it is and what it does... protecs them.

From: Viktoria Dovgal That's really pretty normal, a bank is going to make a judgement call on a business plan's viability before it hands out the money, you kind of have to go for a personal loan if you don't want them to consider that. It's exactly the same situation where you would want to take a close look at the prospectus before buying a bond. Since that particular bank went into SL itself and failed to make it work, it's kind of understandable that it's not going to want to invest any more into SL ventures. Must be some strange world that other people live in where banks are nosey for simply opening checking accounts. No bank I have ever applied to for a business account (10 or so now) has EVER asked me for details about what the business was about, beyond a general category to satisfy minimum legal requirements. They've done credit and minor financial checks before (to make sure I don't have other delinquent accounts at other banks), but not one has ever taken me to task over the kind of business I want to run. As far as they are concerned, my money is as good as anyone else's, as long as it is legal. I'm not talking credit or loans here, just a simple checking account, which is what I understand Lord is trying to set up for his business. Sounds like discriminatory practices which are, thankfully, mostly illegal around here.

From: Lord Sullivan The reason we went to ABN first was twofold, the fact they have our mortgage and joint account and secondly that they had a presence here in SL so we thought that they would be the best choice lol Sounds to me like they don't want your mortgage or other accounts much anymore, either.

I still cannot believe they said that lol they had all the company details etc from the Dutch company registration office and our VAT number etc. and I would have had no problems with the financial checks. They just got a thing about SL and not wanting to be associated with it, still never mind my personal bank took the details over the phone and made an appointment for next week with no issues and yes I did tell them what ABN said to lol

I am swapping them next week to my bank here where I hold my main personal accounts and my wife is closing her private account and moving to my bank as well I will be making those appointments when we meet the business guy

As we've all discovered in recent months, the global RL banking system is already a virtual one where the big players can ask for a 'rollback' or 'restart' but the rest of us can't.
