Who makes the most realistic shapes?

Hi.
A friend and I were out dancing at a popular club the other night, and the both of us spotted an av with an unusually realistic breast -shape-. (Not skin, a shape) My friend has spent a lot of time shopping and spending bookoo L$ on her av and looks fantastically gorgeous, but hopes for an improvement over the same typical pair of "bumps" which is so common.

Adjust and adjust as she may, is still basically just a pair of bumps.
We're NOT talking *size* here, but a realistic shape.

Well unfortunately that paticular av was really conceited and almost mean to my friend when she politely enquired about it and wouldn't reaveal a source.

Yesterday we noticed another av with probably the same kind, but they wouldn't respond to IM.

We've both spent hours looking, she's tried on demo's at numerous places but the shape always seem the same. We're wondering if the improved ones even exist at all, or if it's just an illusion created by a cleverly shaded dress?

-edit- The improved shape we've noticed is clothed, not seen nude- almost all of the places we frequent are not nudee places.

I have had many comments on how realistic my shape is and hownatural it looks I have also made several for friends which get similar comments. If your friend would like to see mine and would like a copy I would be happy to drop her a copy of it

The shading of the skin and the shading of the clothing can make a huge difference to how the "bumps" look.

I found myself a modifiable shape, a skin set that I liked and just kept adjusting the shape until it looked how I wanted it. But, yes, the clothing really does make a difference in how your eye sees the shape.

The look of any shape (or skin) depends heavily on several things. Mostly the combination of both skin and shape. Clothing also plays into it, as does the particular lighting that one views it in (thanks to Windlight). You probably are not going to find any shape that will duplicate what you have seen on other avatars........just too many variables to overcome. Your wife will probably have more luck finding a shape that is modifiable and works with her skin. Then jump on a pose stand, get a cold drink and start adjusting the sliders, gently tweaking until she gets the look she (or you) want. Make sure she copies the shape before she starts just in case it gets messed up beyond repair. I would suggest she do the major shape adjusting while nude on the stand........but when she thinks she has what she wants to put several different mesh clothing items on and do any further adjusting.

It will take time and patience. The shape I wear is a constant work in progress......two and a half year project so far. :)

Zerock, could it be that you saw folks wearing "Prim Breasts"? These are sold nude but also with clothes textured directly on them - obviously one cannot wear system clothes over them.

Next time you see a rack you think looks really good, try right-clicking on their chest ... if the area highlights, then choose "Inspect" off the pie menu, and then display the profile of the creator. The store will doubtless be in their picks.

If their chest isn't prim, then the slider advice given in other responses may help.

If you want to see a variety of what can be done with sliders, try on demos at a shop that TRIES to duplicate real human celebrities, like Body Doubles.

Skin is definitely a huge factor in how those "bumps" look. One of the two types of skin I normally wear is shaded heavier and looks a full cup size bigger in low cut clothing. But I've been finding myself wearing the other one, which has a nicer tone and looks a bit less artificial.

Heres some breast shape tips
----------------------------------

Use very small number for Cleavage

Make sure the buoyancy number is at least 40. Low buoyancy numbers can make them look fake.

Small is better if you want them round and not blocky. Over 80 and you are on your own.

Carefully Reduce the width of your shoulders to make them look curvier from the front.

Carefully Increase the width of your shoulders to make them look bigger from the front.

Heres some butt bump tips
-------------------------------

For a round butt try to keep the butt size number fairly close to the hip length numbers.

If the hip length is a lot longer than butt size the butt will appear flat.

If the butt size is a lot bigger than the hip length the butt will appear fake/blocky.

On Waists
------------
People go too crazy with small waist numbers - it makes shapes look unrealistic quickly.

On Saddlebags
------------------
Women tend to want to shrink these right away because of a natural reaction "Saddlebags! OMG no!" When in reality they are a great way to round your hips in SL.

-----------------------------------------------------------

There - Good luck

This is a REAL pet peeve of mine. people doing the 'nyah nyah not tellin' where I got it' thing. Why are people so damn rude when you ask them a polite question ? Like anything they own is unique anyway fgs.. nothing in SL is unique, unless you made it yourself, and you have the only copy.

Idiots.

Well....it's sculpture..and the skin is going to have a lot to do with how the shape looks......but I make shapes and I've had lots of folks tell me my females lok very real and natural. I don't really advertise heavily as shapes are a dime a dozen anyway. But it takes practice and a keen eye. It really helps to have a picture of a female shape and observe very carefully as you create your shape. ;)

Sin Skins does a cleavage enhancement, which looks good on the pictures in her store but I haven't seen anyone wearing it as far as I know.

If there is a prim enhancement of any sort you can find out the maker by clicking on it, but watch out for a slap in the kisser if the lady you want to check out is wearing xcite in that area.

I have never seen a prim enhancement that even looked good, let alone natural or realistic.

thank you peggy

also to anyone looking for a shape, always remember that the shape will seem to change depending on the clothing, and the skin applied to it

The most consistent reason I've seen for unrealistic breast shapes is one that Colette mentioned: buoyancy.

Play with the gravity and breast size, keeping both in the realm of so-called reality, and you can achieve a very pleasing shape.

Great tips, Colette. I do things by eye, but it's useful getting some slider value guidelines.

/me runs inworld to play with her breasts....

Thanks .. :)

One thing probably in addition smaller breasts can handle lower buoyancy numbers

for example a size 30 breast my look nice from the side with a 30 buoyancy rating

Wheras if you want to make a Size 80 breast look nice from the side you might be over 60.

Don't forget to give yourself a little body mass and fat as well. Rounds out all of the curves.

Thanks for the tips Colette. I was pretty spot on, but the hip length to butt size thing made me run to the sliders. Working on torso length to breast size adjustments now :)

lol, apparently Ann's bewbs are too buoyant. :D

Iunno, I think they look better a little higher in clothes, a little lower when naked. Of course, I have absolutely no reason to be naked the vast majority of the time, so I pretty much never shift 'em.

It's going to depend on overall size of the av too...I mean, if Sassy is small, smaller breasts will of course look more proportional. Ann is, shall we say, well-endowed, but she's also quite tall and curvy through the hips and bum, so it doesn't look freakish.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

The avatar mesh design... The calculations that make up the polygons on the back don't overlap neatly for smaller sizes. It's one of the many inherit flaws and my main excuse for having sooooo much long hair. (=_=)y

LOL Ann you are a different story entirely.

I was talking about the effects of gravity. You transcend all that. :D
