Yes Yes i know Clubs are a Dime A Dozen these days on SL. Some people have thier faves and dont go anywhere else, Some Club hop for Event Prizes, Some just Club Hop to See all the different Clubs on SL.

So my Question is this.

What do the SL Residents Look for in a Club. i want this to Be a Club Based on What SL Residents Look for in a Club. I'm Not looking to Build a Sleezy Strip/Escort Club. I'm not Looking to Add to the Millions of Hip Hop/Techno Clubs Unless it is Truley Desired and Then i would only Build it with the input of SL Residents So they would Enjoy coming.

So What do you All look for in a Club when you go out Clubbing.

What Kinda Design would you Like top See. What Colors would you liek to See that would make it pleasing and wanting you to come back. What Kinda Music would you want played in this Club. Do you Really Enjoy Girls Dancing on Poles.

Any Input To Make this A Standout Club that People will Enjoying coming to the first Time then Come back Over and Over again Would be Greatly Apprieciated!

I don't go to clubs, but I have to ask...how can you type like that without vomiting?

I am with Ann on this one, do not go to clubs.

As for your reply about lack of an intelligent response, I have a feeling she was referring to your lack of typing skills, in that you have typed words with capitals when not needed.

It makes it very uncomfortable to read typing like that.

If I did go to clubs, I would want a club that bans gestures that spam, no hoooo's or howls and such, and if folks typed like you did then I would leave, because as I said, it is very difficult to read.

I would want the staff to actually care about the patrons, and greet them with real honest greetings, not canned "welcome to such and such" greetings.

No flashing lights, no spinning crap, and no particles.

This has been up a few times and here is one of my replies:

From: someone
- An interior that doesn't make me wanna gauge my eyes out. Well matched colors, no fancy strobelights or fog machines, or vendors/ads cluttering up the place.
- No gesturbating in main chat. (Kindly asking guests to keep gestures and chat spam to a minimum works if they are the culprits and not the staff itself.)
- Inclusive staff. Greet everyone, try to include people in convos. If they don't wanna chat, you can still make them feel noticed and appreciated for being there. (Last night a friend and I spent two hours in a club and noone spoke to us once. Friends of the staff/regulars were greeted as they came in.)
- Have a dance machine? Put good dances in there! I don't go to clubs to look like an idiot on the dance floor. Yes, I have a huddles that has ME covered, but not everyone does.

And to answer your specific questions:
"What Kinda Design would you Like top See."
- "less is more". I like clubs that keep it simple. No sparklies.

"What Colors would you liek to See that would make it pleasing and wanting you to come back."
-As long as it doesn't hurt my eyes, i don't really care about the colors that much.

"What Kinda Music would you want played in this Club."
-I like most music. I avoid clubs with just trance, rap etc, while I can listen to it it doesn't take long before I feel like moving on.

"Do you Really Enjoy Girls Dancing on Poles."
-I only really notice them if they are contributing to the conversation.

Music that I like (which means you can't please everyone, so no point in me telling you what sort of music that is).

An atmosphere that enourages talk and getting to know people as well as standing on a poseball doing animated dances. For me, the definition of a club is...

"a group of people associated for a common purpose or mutual advantage, usually in an organization that meets regularly"

I know that is not what usually a club is about here, but I like to feel I belong, that I know people. The forum hangout is such a place.

Thats probably not what you want to hear.. but its my answer to your question.

Hey, I said I didn't go to clubs...how could I give you an answer about what I want from them when they don't interest me? I'd be perfectly happy to see the vast majority of them disappear, if you want the truth.

That typing...style, for lack of a better word, is rather like the rolling of the ocean though. Up and down and up and down and up and down...

You're going to struggle to get answers on such a generic question. However people go to clubs to socialise, some people don't even turn their music on when they go clubbing, they want to meet people. That's the key, not so much how it looks, you'd have to really wow people for visual attraction, it's low lag fun that people are after.

As someone who just shut down their club, my best advice to you opening a club is....DON'T. There are too many clubs in existence now, and you just can't get enough people in to support it.

If you go ahead and do it, I recommend an 80s format, because the 80s clubs truly do the best.

My advice to the OP is to build a place with a theme and atmosphere that appeals to -you-. You are going to be spending the most time there so it should be a place where you want to be. And if you build on a theme you like, your place will attract like-minded folks who share an interest in common with yours. What could be better?

You can't build a place that pleases everyone, since not everyone likes the same things. So instead of trying to please everyone go ahead and build a place that pleases you. Believe me, people can tell the difference when the owner loves her own place.

not all strip clubs are sleazy by the way..i'll take you around to some of the nicest looking clubs in sl and half will be with dancers on stage and packed because the place is fun..
i don't think one club is gonna find the magic secrete anymore..
good music for me wins over a build and good people hanging in the club wins over the build.
if you limit yourself to one style of music you limit yourself to one crowd that listens to it..if you change up your music all the time trying to get everyone in you end up with an empty house lol

i always tell people if they have an idea or theme for a club that they have been wanting to make ..stick with the vision you want and don't let a bunch of others stray you from your plan..
if you want to make a club and you are not sure what you want then most times they end up being a guessing game the whole time..
you could ask what people like in 10 different forums and get 10 different results..
because most everything has been done so far..
find something that tingles the back of your neck and go with that heheheh

I generally like outdoor dance floors. I think the issue is lighting and an outdoor club seems less claustrophobic.

Most of the clubs I go to are Brasilian and everyone dances and it's loud and crazy. Even at Club Eternal which is a Christian club, everyone dances though a lot of the dancing is well supervised and well paying camping.

Put the dance ball within easy reach and fix it so it rezzes quickly. Having it down near the floor or on a railing at eye level or below is really a big plus.

It's fun to pick from a menu of dances, though having one's av fly up in the air, turn upside down, and spin on her poor head is really not as awful as it sounds. Getting one's head stuck in the dance floor (I can't say where it happened. I did go back and have been back there numerous times since so I guess it wasn't traumatic) is not a wonderful way to end an evening.

I'll pretty much dance to any music. I often don't hear the music and just watch my avi dance. I think she goes dancing just about every day if she's not swimming or skiing. I wish there were swimming or skiing groups that were as active as clubs. Someone did open up a water club with a pool so I may get my wish. Skiing or skating to music would also be fun (Yes, an ice or roller rink) or just a ski slope or cross country course that blasts music.

Getting reasonable traffic in clubs these days is MUCH harder because there are soooo many clubs in existence.

You may find yourself having a great grand opening, due to the excitement and novelty, but after that? Who knows.

What I am seeing is the big, well-known, established clubs are continuing to do well, whereas mom & pop clubs are falling by the wayside. Sorta like how Starbucks keeps swallowing up smaller coffee shops.

My Partner and I rarely go to clubs anymore, but when we do 99.999% of the time it is because our favorite DJ is playing there (wherever "there" is) and we know he plays the type of music we enjoy.

If we want to dance besides when our DJ is playing we usually head to the Avilion Ballroom for the beautiful ambiance and romantic music or Runaround Sue's for the fun 50's music.

How about a club that has musical acts of famous groups? I mean the music would not be 'live' or sung by anyone at all. The parcel stream would be playing tunes while the band on stage actually looks like the famous group and looks like they're playing. Then you can make all sorts of effects like putting the band in shadow while the video screen behind them starts playing or getting fireworks blasting. I mean really try to create that rock club atmosphere with all the haze and the crowd all in darkness.

If anyone ever does this please IM me because I'm sure I will miss any announcement of such a thing happening.

I wonder what kind of trouble one could get into for impersonating a band...

I guess depends on the band and how picky they are heh

Exactly. Like an Elvis impersonator. We all know he ain't Elvis. He's lip syncing to Elvis' music but you still enjoy the show. And Elvis is dead..

I saw Youtube clips of a group of people doing exactly that with U2, so the idea certainly isn't new, but I am not sure if anything of the sort is being done now.
