Creepiest Sims

I haven't been to many truly creepy sims, but this one has to be one of the creepiest!

I think waterhead and bear are pretty creapy

I guess it depends on what counts as creepy... in some senses Suffugium would fit the bill... as would Gibson depending on the current build (I really miss their urban squalor build with the sewer tunnels... I had a nice cardboard box to curl up in at the abandoned subway station). I kinda miss Nomine's Dark Crystal build too. then there's Doomed Spaceship with it's oversexed aliens and critters... but it all depends on what you think is creapy and why.... some find Luskwood to be creepy...

Heh, you beat me to the punch Void, I was thinking Suffugium as well, that's a well done sim.

If you like Innsmouth, you'll like the abandoned asylum on Deviant... also marvelously creepy.

+1 for Innsmouth. You can turn the creepy up to 11 there with the right Windlight settings.

I'd also add in the Bentham Forest, in the Wasted Night sim. A must see.

Wish I could remember the name now... went to some haunted hospital. It was rather well built.

GOL 8 is about the creepiest place I've seen in SL.

I guess I would define "creepy" as a sense of unspecified danger and anticipation of something dreadful, (whether or not it actually materializes) together with an appropriately dark and decaying environment.

The added sound effects of footsteps running behind me (I have surround speakers) and turning around to see nothing there was a nice touch.

Skara Brae. Insilico. Rygel and Lustbaby's Workshop. Sin City. And, although it isn't dark and decaying, Stepford.

and, as of last weekend, my dungeon.

I still like "The Wastelands" which has been around ages I gather; although it may not qualify as 'creepy' to everyone. To me its silence is creepy.

(Although on that count a lot of sims would qualify...)

I want to see Stepford. Or is it for married avs only? They probably wouldn't like a single person coming to call, eh.

Ryder Asylum is a reconstruction of the notorious Danvers asylum where the lobotomy was invented. You can rent an apartment there.

I myself have only been in Stepford briefly, after hearing about it from a friend.

All I can say is, it looks like a peaceful, semi rural sim. It was the fact that I had some idea, from my friend, of what went on there that made its ordinary appearance seem creepy.

What DOES go on there, Lindal? Extreme dominance, transformation roleplay, and Dolcett.

The extreme dominance I'd expect, rather. what's transformation roleplay? Transformed to what? Dolcett I still haven't gotten around to googling, someone said it's NSFW and when home, I keep forgetting, so I don't know what that is either.

"Transformation roleplay" is a rather broad term. It generally involves (as you might expect) changing your avatar into something else...the opposite gender, or a doll, or a robot, or even a statue. These changes are roleplayed for greater emotional impact. For example, instead of simply donning a head-to-toe latex outfit, you might place your avatar in a machine which "coats you from head to toe in a thick, seamless skin of latex".

The roleplay often involves some form of behavior modification or mind control or hypnosis, which may, depending on the players, be simply roleplay or real hypnotic trance.

In the film, "The Stepford Wives", normal women were transformed into "perfect wives", robots who catered to their husbands' every whim.

If a person with a Dolcett group in their profile invites you to dinner, think Hannibal Lecter, not Julia Childs.

But what if someone didn't wanna know?

Dolcett is to cannibalism as volunteer is to draftee... with a curious BDSM twist... and that's probably more than the average person WANTS to know.

True enough. I think of Dolcett participants as Shmoos.
