But yeah, I also know many that have been told "I ar'd your freakish butt" when they were in sims that crashed on them

QFT! To the OP - I'm not sure your question got answered. When the sim that you are in goes down for whatever reason, or when you try to log on and the sim you are trying to log onto isn't available for whatever reason, it puts you in the nearest public location. If you were naked when you logged off or when the sim crashed, that's how it dumps you.

Most people are pretty understanding. It happens to everyone, so don't worry. A lot of people keep a folder that has an outfit/hair/whatever ready so they can quickly dress in the event of an emergency by just right clicking on the folder and clicking "add to outfit", then they are decent while they sort out what happened.
