A thought for making a "space" sim, as a private island. And maybe the one decent use I can think of for mega-prims...
  1. Buy a private island sim.
  2. Flatten it to 21 Meters elevation.
  3. Texture the sim terrain with a seamless, tilable starfield. Use a fairly loose scatter of stars, as this is a fairly small repeating tile.
  4. Use the flat 256m x 256M mega prims to box in the sim, and make a more dense starfield to texture them.
  5. Use another 256 x 256 mega prim for a "roof" at 768 M up
  6. Set sum in sim locked to midnight.

Done right, that only takes 13 mega-prims to box in a 256 x 256 x 747 M high volume, and make it look like space inside. Any builds inside would have to use local lighting and/or fullbright, and/or people would have to swap between "Noon" and "Midnight" depending if they were inside a space station or out in space.

Presuming, of course, that the mega-prims cooperate, and remain stable right at the sim edges like that, and can be textured correctly. And that they cause no other issues.

This could be expanded on to create a single multi-sim volume, by placing more private sims side by side, and enclosing a larger width and breadth. A 9-sim build done like that would be an impressively large space arena, roughly a 768 Meter cube of empty volume...

whats the maximum height for a TP landing point?

Since the OP wanted to make a in the air club - this is pretty important. You want peopel able to get to your club without having to use extraordinary means.

I know TP landing points work at 760 meters.

I don't know if this has changed, but- it used to be impossible to get an event listing to stick if the event location coordinates were above a certain height.

Maybe the TP could be to a rocket at ground level that shoots the av up to the station? :)

And I really think the VR wall approach has potential. I'd certainly enjoy visiting such a place, just to see how it was all done!
