Yep, I get these occasionally - the funniest was the girl who said that she had not had an item delivered, but could she have a different style instead. I re-sent the item she had paid for but she was not happy. Also, I have special group only offers in store, and you have to be a member to buy them. if you are not a member, the vendor refunds you. Sure, SL could stuff up and fail to refund - which is why I ask for transaction histories so I can check. If I have refunded them but they don't get their money back their gripe is with LL, not me. ITo the best of my knowledge this hasn't happened. Nevertheless, every week someone will try to scam me, even sending the transaction history for their purchase when the refund is right next to it! The other ones you have to love are the lucky chair and Midnight Mania prize winners who demand a different colour or style, sometimes a bespoke one! yeah, I'm gonna do that!!

From: Soar Wingtips I was looking for tents usable for tenants, found a store that specialised, and advertises all your camping needs, soo like an idiot I bought one of each set, tent, sleeping bag, camp bed chairs, got them back and rezzed, not one of them has a pose or animation in them they are totally unusable, the resposne oh you need to get the free poseballs and put them on it yourself???? I think I was just really rritated that such junk is sold, anyone can make something and sell it but surely like in rl they should live up to their description? Maybe I expect too much.. Many items are sold intentionally without poses or animations. There is nothing wrong with selling such items. I prefer them because my avatar is smaller than average so most pre-set poses don't look right; it works better for me to add my own poses or use pose-pillows. If an item wasn't described as having animations, I wouldn't assume that they are there.

From: Nimbus Rau The vast majority of customers I deal with from my store are great. In fact, some of them have turned into good friends. But every once in a while I get someone posing as a customer to try to scam free stuff from me. The one I had this week really takes the cake. She was all "I bought a cat and it's broken, can you send me a new one?" to which my standard response was "tell me when you bought it so I can check my transaction record (and here's how you can find the date you purchased it if you've forgotten)". She IMs back a while later that she's forgotten the date she bought the cat, can I pleeezzz send her a new one, and oh by the way can I give her a free lion while we're at it. *rolls eyes*
At this point I check her profile and discover that av was born less than 2 months ago. I double-check all my transaction records for that period and discover (not at all to my surprise) that she hasn't purchased anything from my store, ever.
*big sigh* Are they really that stupid? Or do they think I am? Answer,, the Latter. A Scammer doesn't HAVE to be a Genius, they Only have to be Marginaly smarter than thier mark. "You Can't Cheat an Honest Man" ~W.C. Fields~ Angel.

From: Tegg Bode I'd have to have fun with people like that, and reply something like: "Oh you mean the CAT-234-456G Series that you seeem to have brought on 1/4/07? It's been discontinued, I'll sent you the H series upgrade with a free 4 dimensional BLU hydroxide interface" Then send them a small plywood cube or random inventory object with some freebie script for particles in it. insert the following into a random prim, rename it "cat" and send it to them default {state_entry {llShout(0, llGetOwnerName() + " is a scam artist"  }}

Sorry to be confusing.. my issue was that I bought the item for myself! when I meant to have it sent to her! (that's twice now with those gift vendors damnit!).. seeing as I already owned the pair of fangs (which I bought last year) I did not need the second pair for myself. I can try to find out the date I purchased them by the properties, date modified method (thanks for that) and then I need to download from back then? I am starting to think that its a lost cause which really annoys me as if they even bothered to look at their trans history at all they would see I have bought a bunch of stuff from there and even donated when they put our a personal call for help to bring the partner to them RL! So much for appreciating loyal customers! I guess I will just tell everyone not to shop there due to their complete lack of customer service! and seeing as I RP in a vampire sim I can tell a lot of vamps lol! As for the creator who refunded for the dress, I was totally amazed and appreciative! I deleted the one I accidentally bought for myself in my inventory and was really happy that she was so good to deal with. I know I cannot name her shop here but she's in Port Babbage and her dresses are great for the Steampunk, Victorian types

From: Anya Ristow I'm not anxious to do business with someone for whom my work means nothing but "hey, I can make money selling this stuff!" If this person doesn't have enough interest to have dropped a few dollars trying out the products, just how much time am I supposed to give them? My answer? I didn't even answer the IM. There was nothing wrong/bad/negative/etc. with the request you received. Some creators want their stuff to be sold as far and wide as they can get them and affiliate selling is a very good way of doing that. There is no reason at all why an affiliate seller should first be a customer.

From: Onagh Ashbourne I can try to find out the date I purchased them by the properties, date modified method (thanks for that) and then I need to download from back then? I'm afraid you can't download transactions more than 30 days old, so if the purchase was before that then you won't be able to retrieve the transaction number. If the purchase was within those 30 days, then you don't even need to download your transaction history; just set it to display as far back as the purchase and copy the relevant entry (might want to make a screencapture, too, just to be on the safe side). If the purchase was more than 30 days ago, your only option is to send the creator a notecard with the 'date aquired' properties (date, time etc) from the item, and hope that *they* download their transactions regularly (most content creators in SL do). Giving them as much information as possible will help them to find the duplicate transactions in their records.
