Confusion over new SL abuse report

I noticed on Abuse Reports there's now loads of options to choose from under the category menu, including Commerce>Failure to deliver product or service. My question is, I thought the Lindens didn't get involved in resident to resident disputes, so does this mean they now do? Or is that category there to confuse me?

LL could probably have an easy access to records of what you pay vs what you recieve. I think if its something like a custom build or a contract, that's one thing, but if a person puts up something to sell, another person buys it and it fails, and the owner refuses to give the person the object, the only way to know for sure if the person truly got the object or not is by those logs, and I dont believe there is a way that a simple user can see those.

Think of it like this. I have a store, you come to my store and buy something out of my vendor. SL is acting up...again...and you buy one of my buildings I've built. Normally, the object gives me the money, and you the object, but I have no way of knowing if the object made it to you or not. The building is expensive and is no copy for the next owner, so I'm at a point where I have no way of knowing if the building was truly sent or not. This is where LLs logs come in handy.

I've heard about some people doing this...going in, buying something that is transfer but no copy, paying for it and getting the object, then claiming they got nothing to get a free second product from the creator. Honestly, I'm happy for this, it gives both the buyer as well as the seller some protection when it comes to business. This isn't something I see a ban occuring from, just more of a safety for those that do business. I like it, glad to see it.

Ah thanks, I did wonder cause i've had issues with a business owner not providing something I paid alot for, but that wasn't through a vendor, I was going to report it then thought they don't do resident to resident disputes, then saw that & got confused, that clears it up ty!

The categories are meant to represent actual AR'able offense, but it's still under review/in progress.

Things that are essentially resident-resident disputes (like "Commerce > Failure to deliver product or service";) will be reviewed and removed so there's no actual change in policy there.

A JIRA on it would help too (if there isn't one about it already by now), or about the categories in general.

(Not a literal quote of what was said, just my own rephrasing of the answer)
