Are you able to withdraw money from The (Linden) Bank?

I have been trying unsuccessfully for the past four days to withdraw some of my money from the The Bank formerly known as The Linden Bank. Is it just me or are others having similar problems too?

I was just curious as to if I am doing something wrong or something.

Do you mean from your official account USD credit, or some kind of inworld resident 'bank' kind of thing?

It is a privately owned 'bank'. Think "bob's Bank". Contact "bob" and see if he will let you borrow a few bucks of your own money.

Wil, the name of the bank is "The Bank" - it used to be known as "The Linden Bank". It was at their main ATM.

I did try IMing and sending a notecard to the owner yesterday. I have not received any replies yet.

Or gambling ..

IIRC, this bank (or was it JTF) was heavily invested in the land game inworld. Seeing how land has taken a nosedive, I would imagine that any bank tied heavily to the SL land market would take a massive hit. With cheap land aplenty, there is less need for financing, and profit margins are far slimmer.

What interest rate did these guys offer?

And I would be surprised if you did receive a reply. One of the sim that this person owned, was recently sold without warning to the residents, and the only notice they got was when the new sim owner suddenly returned all their buildings, objects, etc.. This happened yesterday. I had some money in this bank, but as soon as the whole ginko deal started to come to light, I withdrew all my money from this "Bank".

I sure hope that you didn't have a lot of $$$ deposited in this "Bank".

Is that 5% a year? A month? A day?

hehe answer is uptop

the name is "the bank" which was formerly known as "the linden bank"

Wondering if another one has just gone bust because it used land to make the money grow and as before invested everyone's principle in it in such a way that it overdid it and could not sell the land fast enough?

Time will tell if this is ginko #2 lol

Is it 5% a day, week, month, or year? At what interval is interest paid?

Not sure if it really matters anymore, as the only interest rate you will be getting from now on is 0%.

I thought it was 5% a month, but I would have to look at notecard I originally got when I signed up to confirm this.

I'm afraid to say that if what Naughty Desoto posted is true in all likelihood your money is gone. I wish Linden Lab would prohibit the use of the word "bank" for Second Life financial institutions and force them to have the designation in conspicuous lettering after whatever business name they choose "A Volatile High Risk Uninsured Investment Fund" which is all any of these so called banks are in the best case scenario and in the worst case scenarios are ponzi schemes. See how many people would think twice before putting their money in the fund with a name disclosure like that.

True

The land based ones - Best case are Loan Sharts and Land Speculators using your money.

Worse case they are Loan Sharks and Land Speculators and Ponzi Scheme runners using your money.
