Actually I have very little experience of other boards and I used to have sigs turned on up until fairly recently. However for every one sig I laughed at I found my self irritated by the relatively few large advertising ones that people put on. The more time I have spent here the more people followed suit and upsized their sig.

I just don't subscribe to the philosophy that every opportunity to push products past a pair of eyeballs must be seized and used. I could have used my own sig to advertise my products or my club but I didn't and don't because if everyone does it then the whole forums will be unreadable unless you turn them off.

That threshold for me was crossed - it only takes a relatively small number of people with large banners who post often to really make it look like strip advertising. So I turned them off and there is still enough humour to make me laugh. I don't miss 'em and I have no intention of switching them back on.

FD I hope you realise I was not making any statement about your art when I said this. I was only commenting about me not having sigs on and the reason why. I would not dream of putting anybody's work down in anyway and I had no idea whether you had an advert or not in your sig (because I turned them off)

That would be an incredible shame if that were to happen, if it brings you pleasure then I would say do it because you want to regardless of what anyone else thinks.

FD honey - please put your were-elf or any thing else you like back - this is our playground thread for as long as the Powers that Be allow it. Ray was just playing - he could have said it about anything at all. You have done a great deal of seriously good work- and the only way we grow in our art is to share it and then listen to the critiques. You have helped me immensely in cleaning up my work so far and I would hate to think u wd cut back on the things that you do. Please. pretty please- don't throw away your hard work - besides- even if you had posted some 9 foot tall Adonis in Speedos- he would have been....the butt of a joke or two.. If we can survive the skull grinning zombie thing we can survive were-elves . No offense, Tod - but eek!

All I have is a 6 pound cat who won't cooperate. Use to have a 86 lbs rottie though. Miss that clumsy bastard knocking me over every morning.
