Temps in the triple digits south of Tucson today. I usually don't contribute to weather-related discussions. People tend to respond negatively, or in other inappropriate ways.

Milk duds.... hmmmm

Ever wonder what OTHER names for that product were considered and REJECTED before they decided to use "Milk Duds" ?? That was their best choice?

Why? Sounds heavenly, especially if it's dry heat.

Believe it or not....there is an answer:

"The MILK DUDS candy name came about because the original idea was to have a perfectly round piece. Since this was found to be impossible, the word "duds" was used. The word "milk" was used to reflect the large amount of milk in the product."

Once the temps hit about 110 or more the dry heat doesn't matter. But I'll still put up with that to have our Southern AZ winters.

Are we giving weather reports now?

Currently 62 degrees, with a high of 71. Partly cloudy, too. :-)

The locals, especially temporary locals who wouldn't rather be here, love to disparage the old "but it's dry heat!" saw. I've seen the adage parodied in a disdainful manner - like when someone in traffic makes a move that is misunderstood, the skeptic would remark snidely "Well, at least it's a DRY stupid!"

I visit family in Tennessee perhaps twice a year, and I have lived in various US locations. I will stipulate that 115 degrees in Arizona is just goddamned hot, but it is much better than 90 in Tennessee/Louisana/Texas/wherever-humid IMO. I can't damned breathe if I go to the southeast in the summer.

If Mr. Mumfuzz gives her a house and a bunch of other inventory and a bunch of money, wouldn't it be the same as the ultimate result a few weeks or months from now?

Trout, it looks like you have a decision to make - marriage or death (assuming there is a difference).

Hey, marriage is great!

It doubled my income.

Well Lil,

I have to work this Saturday for a few hours to cover for vacations hehehe. And anyone that knows banking knows that they dont like overtime so I go home :D And I get to be the boss on Thursday and Friday could be a YAY me.

So this weekend I play teller in the drive through :) Which basically means we play on the computer and wait on an occassional customer.

Hmmm Xerxes you won the thumb wrestling? Well lets see what the prize is hehehehe.

That's no help. My accountant's income is zero (unless she's escorting on the side, which I consider highly unlikely). Mr. Mumfuzz's income is also zero, according to Trout.

Do. The. Math.

On the other hand, I'm all for this union. It means I get the services of a second accountant at no cost. Talk about your double-entry bookkeeping!

Exactly! I lived in Southern AZ for five years, and "but, it's a dry heat" was the comment that all our guests made...when visiting in February. :p

Anyone who marries Yosef for him money is ... well let's just say he has many assets much more valuable than his money...

Dear Mr. Recreant,

My name is Lynnette Weston. I'm the accountant for Ms. Kidd and her business partners. I understand that your employee, Mr. Mumfuzz, is scheduled for, if I may put it this way, "termination".

Before you or Mr. Mumfuzz take any drastic actions that cannot be undone, I would like to meet the gentleman to discuss whether he does, indeed, lack prospects and/or any redeeming character traits.

His lack of funds does not concern me; I myself live very simply and require nothing. His appearance is actually a plus from my point of view. I have always been rather fond of the "boy next door" look.

Would it be possible for you to arrange a meeting? I do hate to see a good accountant go to waste.

Would it be possible for me to meet with you first? I would hate to see a good waist go to accountant. :D

Yeah, but I don't need to marry him to enjoy those assets.
