About the dog story I told earlier - after the input from Kaimi and Weston, Mom talked with our neighbor and I questioned Six a little more closely, and I think you both (K & W) were right.

It seems that the dog does tend to bark at people in the house when the owners aren't there (duh!) like the dogwalker, etc., but also just before he began barking at Six, the dog sneezed. This startled Six, so she jumped up. The dog thought, "WTF?" and growled a tiny bit. This scared Six, who started spazzing and hiding behind furniture, so the dog kept growling and barking more. They were escalating each others' behavior, but I missed all that at the time.

So, nice to know the why of it, but...

Six has written the dog off entirely, which is too bad because she was having so much fun with it, and it was so good for her to be taking care of someone. This dog is the most sedate and well behaved creature you can imagine.

I've been trying to figure out a way to get her back on the horse, so to speak. The problem is, I am pushy and she is retiring. If I push too much, she digs her heels in harder.

I dunno what to do.

I can't seem to stay in-world-
I can't stop crying for my friend who is gone and it feels like he's dead and i want to beat the crap out of him for doing this to us- damn it - the weird thing about it all i havent actually seen him inworld in months, just talked in YM lately - partialy a timezone thing and partially cause he was with gf when in world or i was working on something and it makes me suddenly regret the times he wd IM and and i wd say i cant right now but can i call u next time? And part of me feels this is just stupid cause he is fine and just living in RL - but the SL me knows i wont be teasing him about ladies in weird hats again and i will miss him just cause i know i wont talk to him and i cant stop crying and i wish people wouldnt leave - and now am just rambling - sorry people but it friggin hurts!

/me wishes doggies could know what to say to make people feel better. We can hold our ears back and whine softly though.

I had a close RL friend pass away suddenly a couple of years ago. I think I'm still angry with him for leaving us like that. Whenever others of my close friends do something really cool or interesting, we often stop and look at each other and say at the same time, "D---- would have loved this." Yeah, it does hurt.

Is there really no way to talk your friend out of this? Can't he come back once in a while just to say Hi?

Ummph. It is early morning for a Sunday. Mom is working in the living room - I'm in my bedroom with the door shut because she says when I eat granola it sounds as if someone is walking with boots on gravel. Six is still asleep. This morning I started putting the textures on my house and jeez it is hard to make those buggers line up! I spent an hour on ONE PRIM and didn't get the textures to line up.

I'll ask my builder friend later for some help. It's worth it, though. Problems like that are fun.

Last night I finally met Harlow at the Hangout. She has an awfully cute avatar!

I'm finding the alternate forums thread pretty interesting, even if there is a bit of tension there.

Oh, and if you missed it, Mari coined a new initialism (happy, Pep?): IBTFC - in before the forum closing.

Which reminds me - I kind of hope this thread goes over 10,000 posts before the forums crystallize forever, but I realized I'd rather see it get there all by itself, naturally, than to try to fluff it up just for the sake of a number.

I have finished the Steam Hunt and finished unpacking. Exhausting, as you see!


I know a number of you were involved as hosts and wanted to offer a big thank you. The hunt was the best by far that I have ever participated in, the gifts were phenomenal, and my fellow hunters were good fun. Now that I am finished I can ditch my hunt clothes and send my ARC through the roof with steamie goodness

Sigh...home at last!

Yeah - there was a "Make Him Over" hunt several months back and I still have unopened boxes from that. It just gets tedious. Of course there are few things worse for a guy than trying on clothes, and it's not much fun for a dog either unless there are people around to admire (poke fun at) you.

I'm so sorry. I so know how this feels. I lost a friend like this, just about 2 years ago now, he actually left in November of 2008, but was leading up to leaving for months before he actually pulled the plug. I did everything I could to be there, to talk, to listen. Nothing helped. I waited day after day to see him log in. It didn't happen. I emailed him, they weren't returned, he just chose not to respond. And now, it's been nearly a year. I've moved on but still miss him sharply. Would still give anything to see his name logging in. That won't happen. He is totally gone, name no longer in Search. I don't email anymore. Well I did, once, when I went to SLCC, I emailed him and told him, as he lives up that way. He responded, said gee he wished he could come by but, blah blah blah and to have a nice time. I now believe that's the way of SL, and internet friendships and I will protect myself from now on. It will not happen again. When people leave, it's not about me, it's about them, and I have to let them go without allowing it to hurt me emotionally. So you do. Hurting and crying about it won't help, it only makes you feel bad. I didn't really have much else in my SL life at the time, to keep me busy, but you do. You will be ok, but I do understand how you feel.

Put this texture on both pieces and change the offsets and repeats until the pattern lines up on both pieces. Then drop your texture on and it will line up perfectly.
