Where do you go in SL to not be alone

Where do you go in SL when you do not want to be alone?

Depends on my mood I check out Popular places, shop, visit old stomping grounds. There's always Ahern for interaction. [read people watching]

You can always try the Cartel Hangout!

Big name shopping areas. I sit on a bench and work on my inventory, usually a few chats happen.

I didn't know you could be alone in SL.

I'm pretty much always in a dance club or xxx-club somewhere, unless I'm shopping or opening boxes.

Ok; that's one time when I'm alone - the sandbox I usually use is nearly unknown.

I go to live music, but usually I'm still alone cause no one really chats public... and I cant focus on more than 1 IM at a time..

This ^^. Many dull boring days have turned into near hilarity at that place.

I used to go to October Country and sit around the campfire and listen to radio horror shows......there was always a few folks around.....dissing the radio shows or just chatting.....it was such a great place. Now that the OC is gone....I really haven't found another niche like it.
I'll scope out live music sometimes....but often the events will be SO laggy that it's not worth the psuedo company (noone talks anyway, just gestures the performer) so I've been looking for interesting places myself, to find cool folks.

I would so love to create a similar atmosphere as the OC.....and do streaming radio shows and theme parties every weekend like they did. It was the only place I ever went in SL where I really felt 'at home' beyond my own land.

Sometimes coffee shops and book shops will have folks just hanging out.....I've met some cool people that way.....but it's a gamble.....hard to find busy areas without an actual 'event' going on.

I usually search events and do a class or some other kind of event. Trivia is usually good. Or a hunt of some sort, though you sometimes end up alone or with people around but not interacting. Or sometimes I hear about something in the Forum Cartel chat that people are dropping in on, but I'm usually doing something else.

I'm pretty much a loner, though. There's always group chat, so even when I'm alone, I don't feel 'alone' unless I want to.

If you're on during the day weekdays, you're welcome to stop by the club where I work, but I don't know if it would be to your taste. Good people and good conversation there, anyway, some really good DJs, and a minimum of gestures. (Sorry, I know that sounds like an ad, but it's one of the places I've found that's consistently populated during the day most days. There is one other club whose events I go to and the times I've been to Madhu's world music on Monday nights that's been well-attended.)

One of my favorite places to just hang out and think is the particle fountain at the Cloud Chateau in Hina. I usually end up meeting someone and having some good conversations there.

I agree with Nic that Trivia Events are a nice way to meet people. Unlike dancing, people do interact with each other chatting away. Go to many of them (and there are a great many) and hopefully you'll find one pretty fast. If you go regularly you'll eventually be an old timer.

I don't get out much these days, but I used to spend a lot of time in poseball shops - no, not for the "LOL sexxors?", and I avoid those types as a rule, but for the conversation. The theory being, anybody comfortable chatting with a friendly stranger in such an environment (possibly, but not necessarily, while testing animations) is more likely to be open-minded and independent and not shy about expressing their thoughts on things.

I have more than a few long-time friends on my list who I've met this way.

I go to a sandbox and start building... someone is sure to walk up to you. Sometimes I look up events or I just hop around to large amounts of green dots. You can find some weird stuff that way. When I feel helpful I go to a welcome area and try to help someone.

My sky platform. It's only really there for building or making new clothes in appearance although I can set my club up on it if need be.
