Bought some land in that region a couple of months ago as +/- 100m terrain. Now it has been set to +/- 4. When I file a ticket they say that as it is mainland it is that partitcular limit. I know of some other sims that are +/- 40m, so my question is how on earth are you supposed to know if a set terrain limit, on some land you buy, is what it is by accident or not ? That really annoys me ... sorry I am just letting out hot air, I know.

The rule is simple.
All Mainland, apart from some of the old original sims, is +/-4m.
Private island owners can do +/100m

I started a thread here on that Tristan Vale back in May after Zindra was created. The general opinion was that it was mistake that would get corrected.

The thread wandered into the Jessie sim - which one of the original sims with +/-40m

There were some mainland sims that - by accident - had a ±100m terraform. As you know well, it has been corrected to be in line with the majority of the mainland (±4m terraform).

All mainland (as opposed to private islands) is set to allow a ±4m terraform. The exceptions are the San Francisco regions (http://secondlife.wikia.com/wiki/San_Francisco_Sims) and possibly (I'm not sure) the Color regions (http://secondlife.wikia.com/wiki/Color_Sims) which have a ±40m terraform.

You're supposed to be a complete expert on all things SL, read all the blogs and everybody's forum posts about everything. Obviously.

My sympathies though.
