From: Belle Loll That is where we differ as I never come in SL from work...I only log in after I get home ...I mainly just use the work cell for traveling. If I get paged...I logoff SL on my personal computer and login to work on my work PC. I need to have my complete attention on work if this happens. So when I am in SL my attention is there... and voice works very well for me I dont have a workplace. I use different venues, places, etc., so I use my house as a means to extend my "network" when I am at home. I dont advertise where I live and my numbers on my mobiles are very private. So too my emails. When I did briefly voice I sorta think that the av who is voicing me has got just a little bit closer to me than I would like him or her to be. They were IN my house and more real than I cared for. My intimate friends "speak" to me - voice is not appropriate. I dont "do" facebook, twitter etc. So, I dont really have anywhere I can comfortbly "voice". But seriously I just dont like it. It's really not my "scene" or my arena.

Voice can be a good thing...tone of voice and to hear the person you have grown close to is great. I love hearing the different accents as well. I work in a call center tho..I average 100 calls a day in my 10 hrs and I talk a lot during those calls. When I get home from work, all my friends know I won't put on a headset and I'm in dire need of quiet. I can talk and type at the same time (see I work in a call center lol) so that has never been an issue...well, unless I am more braindead than usual My biggest pet peeve are the talkers who repeat what you type... Lissa Pinion: How was your day? Them: How was your day?...Oh, it was good. I don't care if ppl talk while I type or if they type while I talk.

I'm several days behind on this thread, but regarding your earlier posts - I seriously hope you can use earplugs if that wouldn't completely spoil the entertainment thing you are hinting at doing. I refuse to even mow the lawn because I am so cautious about my hearing. Music is just too important to me to ever face the prospect of losing it. People's voices - not so much.

Though I am not in a call center, I do have to take calls from very pushy people to whom I must act professional (in other words be a door mat). I am really far too introverted yet rebellious to put up with the creeps. When I get home I don't want to talk to anyone - don't want noise of any kind. I did recently get a headset to Skype with my scattered family. I tried it in world just to listen and found it a little creepy. It just wasn't Second Life to me any more. Some of the forum folk are still encouraging me to try again though - and I may. People in RL tell me I have an intriguing pleasant voice, though I don't hear it that way. I'd have to be in human form though. I can't quite wrap my head around a talking dog. With keying it's like you are reading the dog's thoughts or something.

Honestly, Weston, I really try and be polite when I speak to secretries etc. and assistants in real BUT sometimes they are equally snotty as I am. I apologise to all people who have answered the REAL phone calls I have made to inquire or discuss or demand! Really, I think they actually like me coz I ALWAYS send a gift to all secs. and assts. I most deal with every May 1st and Dec. 15th. Oh, you just put me on a 30 second guilt trip. Phew! That's better! Monday tomorrow! The bit*ch is back!

Music is just too important to me to ever face the prospect of losing it. People's voices - not so much. It's too late for earplugs! I wish I had been more careful when I was 14 or 16. I started my "career" when I was 14. I have "work-related" tinnitus and know that loud music is TRULY dangerous. If any of you have teens or young kids who use buds or "pump it", really try to persuade them to decrease sound levels before they end up like me. My hearing is now so wrecked that I am HONESTLY listening to alarm bells all the time. It is louder now than the music I can listen to on Bose speakers. The only time I know "silence" is when I am in the shower or in performance-type situations. There is no cure for what I have. For your own sakes, TURN IT DOWN! I am also convinced that spotlights have caused me to have more "floaters" in my eyes and eye-related injuries. But that is another story. Also stay off the booze and drugs and cigarettes. It's NOT cool. And stay "clean". Don't be a slut coz everyone else says you're sexy and sassy. Seriously, BOYS, treat your girls with absolute respect and if they say "NO" they mean it! And don't play at drama. There's enough of that going around anyway! Obviously, real Jiggy was giving a rah-rah-rah speech yesterday! (Sorry )

From: Dune Enzo I rarely use voice, for only one reason = The Giggler.
Ladies, I love you all to bits, but I just can't tolerate The Giggler, that one woman who giggles insanely at every statement - be it a weather report or mention of a football score. Total turn-off. I know what you mean!

I hated voice when i managed clubs..something as simple as..can you please turn off the particles..we don't allow them here because they create a lot of lag..then hearing how i am the oppressor in voice added with some name calling..
I would rather have my insults in text and my IM's left out of voice..It's nice when something has to be explained but it's a lot nicer when i feel i am not in the RL also..
Voice just kind of killed off the escape for me in every game i started using it in..UT and WoW..I'm trying to stay away from it as much as possible here because i want to keep it an escape as long as i can..I like to imagine what someone looks like and sounds like.. I don't mind typing a little extra to keep the image i have in my mind of how someone looks or sounds.. And i would never use it to RP with..What would be the point? But it is good when you have a lot of explaining to do with say working a hud or explaining a script or helping to build..but text they can record and reread as well..

YEA!!! I have a friend getting married next weekend. She asked me to give her away! I am happy, happy, happy and thrilled to be asked.
But now I need a tux.
I have a men's tux with the tie hanging loose that looks sexy but it is not the thing to be wearing during the wedding. I might wear it at the reception afterward.
Does anyone know a good place to find a tux with style? Skell! I need your help. *blush* You have more fashion style than any man I know. Or if someone knows a place with formal suits for women I would love to hear about them.
