Does anybody have a suggestion of places to get men's clothing that won't break the wallet? I noticed that not only are there less men's clothing stores than women's, men's clothing is also more expensive than women's. A man's shirt can cost just as much as a whole dress for a lady! Wonder why this is.

I had the same question a few months back. Did a search here and found a lot of good threads on this topic. I will try dig some up for you if I have time.

Try "Style Starts Here" - nice clothes from the owner of Simone's and reasonable prices too. Men's as well as women's depts.

Dan Senyurt's store (look up the store in his Picks or Classifieds) is one of my favorites. He started with shirts only (best collars in SL) and recently expanded his offerings. He now has corduroy slacks with great texturing and good looking belts (hard to find in SL); they're reviewed at www.second-man.com this week. Everything's a bargain because each piece is versatile: the shirts come with gap-fillers (you can wear them tucked in with low-rise or high-rise pants) + untucked versions, and with each pair of pants you get a version with a black belt, a brown belt, and belt-less. His newest shirts even include a version with the collar unbuttoned and a closed version for wearing with ties.
Probably the best bang for the buck in quality men's clothes is at Simone's new store, Style Starts Here. Relax is my favorite for casual clothes at good prices. Blaze for suits and tuxes. (I have no recommendations for quality inexpensive men's shoes because I haven't found any. I tried, and wasted money on cheap shoes that looked awful. Paying for more expensive shoes, like those at FNKY, will save money in the long run.) |

If you don't mind, I'll do a shameless plug for my own store "get butch gbstyle" (main store at Wajo Hill). It's mostly mens underwear, but there's also a selection of swimwear and outerwear. Rather cheap, too.

Simple answer..Either Freda's for men or Mannon's..None better and won't break the bank.

He does make good stuff, superb textures, but I don't understand why it is so expensive. I have seen similar quality women's clothing that sells for less. It's just weird to me that a lady's gown with flexi prim skirt, detailing and texturing can cost the same price as a men's shirt. |

Shiny Things has great men's shoes and, the last time I compared the two, they were significantly less than FNKY's. _____________________

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut. |

You could also try Barefoot Apparel in Snafu. Jeremey Ryan does casual men's clothing and has a new line of spring sweaters in long and short sleeves. His freebie items are just as well made and worth adding to your wardrobe.
I think you'd also like to check out sfdesigns, the men's clothing side has a very nice selection in a range from casual to formal. I think the shoes are pretty good too and come in 3 or 4 sizes. |

Naughty Designs has some great clothes.
Look up Lost Therian for his picks to get there. I tried searching for the store the other night and it was not coming up. Maybe you will have better luck. _____________________

A man's shirt can cost just as much as a whole dress for a lady! Wonder why this is. Maybe now is a good time to try cross dressing, or recreate a female alt and have fun? |

hey Immortal - search for Devilfish, it's a men's mall.
No dresses to be found ![]() Loads of gear to get your mitts on from high class expensive stuff, to new designers breaking out with newbie-accessible wear. Clothes, shoes, jewellery, accessories, skins, hair, shapes it's pretty much a one stop shop _____________________

Hey all, here's a really shameless plug coming up for my new menswear shop!
I sell casual clothes at very affordable prices, certainly worth a look. No single item in the shop is over L$ 90 although packs of more than one item vary over that price. Plus there's even some freebies! My main shop is at Camlann Tarl 10, 182, 72 Hope to see you there! End of shameless plug, but I would like to say that I decided to make these clothes and open the shop as there isn't as much choice for us guys in SL. Lyle |

I also agree that there is very little choice for us men in SL in regards to fashion. I started making and designing clothes last December and finally released my first collection. I wanted to make clothes that weren't photo-sourced and made every single detail from scratch so it did take me longer than normal. My first collection has been posted in a blog at slmen.com and that really made my day! yay!
I'm hoping to contribute to the men's fashion scene and hoping for some real fashion sense in the world we call SL. Cheers! Visit our store in-world at Jonetsu Isle2 RAKUEN(71,35,23) SLURL: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Jonetsu%20Isle2%20RAKUEN/71/35/23/?u=c0547162d90043f1a947a5c5e3a36624 or shop at onrez.com and slexchange.com and search for the designer Shinichi Mathy |
