Before we see SLim, Linden Lab will decouple the graphics engine from Second Life(On the Roadmap) And they have already decoupled the user interface, so when you think about it all the really cool possibility's come when you can mix and match interfaces and graphics engines. think they did some partial decoupling with Windlight, who knows.
I will head back to that little wiki of Second Life an re-read, been awhile sense I did that last. Of course that sort of improvement is all client side, so I am sure there is a team of server side people working on something... _____________________

what do you think the next big announcement will be? i have a feeling it will either be some big graphics update or sim code opensourced ...off-topic Chaos Borkotron u have just about the best av name I have ever seen in SL, lol. Well CG-Linden mentioned some changes to the Alt Accounts policy, & he ALMOST said "major", but corrected himself. Thats about all I have heard in the last few wks that fits this topic. I don't know how many Alts MOST people have, but I'm an Alt-Aholic, my Alts just don't talk much...I make 'em to mess around w/ character designs, etc. For now SL is free to "play", & Alts ain't tracked to much...but money-wise it would be feasible I guess for them to make users pay for every seperate account again, or whatever. As far as "Gridnaut Stuff", I'm hoping to hear the inventory can be transferred from Grid to Grid, w/ perms intact sometime in the near future, but I ain't holdin' my breath! _____________________
