I can't tell you where I buy my Japanese skins, it's a secret, sorry :-) I recommend picking your skin first and then demo'ing it onto shapes. Brilliant skins can look awful on a poorly matched bone structure/shape.

I can tell you however where my close second choice was http://kru.blog.shinobi.jp/Category/2/

Den Dou and Dr Life are other obvious ones. I don't know if Rosy Mood is still around or not but you could try an in-world search.

A small aside here:

It seems from my SL experience that when Americans say 'Asian' they tend to mean Chinese / Japanese / Indonesian etc., whereas in Britain, when we say 'Asian' we tend to mean people from the Indian sub-continent and refer to Chinese etc as 'oriental'.

Of course, 'Asian' really encompasses both descriptions, but it's come to have a different emphasis on each side of the Atlantic.

I thought the name rang a bell...

(ETA: Actually didn't recall the past thread, 'til the profile. Seeing someone's post about it, I got curious and looked too. Max's profile is - interesting too.)

I believe I did ask for an "Asian" skin. I'm not sure why I'm being criticized for that...

Because "Asian" is too broad a term to send you in the right direction.

Erh, no. Actually, you're being criticized because you're an arrogant broad. If you were nice, people would have asked questions to determine what flavor of "Asian" you are looking for.

Among Asian Americans, Oriental is also considered somewhat a demeaning term to use for a person. Asian is used for people from both East and South Asia, as well was the Himalayan / Mongolian populations (North Asia?). In the USA, there is no one to whom you can refer to as Oriental.

Which means that in the states, if you say 'Asian' it is even vaguer than it might be in the UK.

Why would anyone pay money for a shape when you can adjust your own using the appearance sliders? Tweak the shape you have till you get it how you want it, then click "Save As" and name it.

As for skins, why would you not use the search function and search for Chinese, Japanese etc and then just put the skin over the shape you've made?

It's that easy is it? Ahh, you studied ethnic facial forms and can recreate using SL's primitive slider system -lol

I can build a house within a few hours and texture it too.........would it be any good though?

I think this is just someone who RPs a very heavy dom in the BDSM aspect of SL, and made the mistake of continuing their RP here.

While this is a part of the SL world, its outside of SL's BDSM community, and even further than that, outside the Grid itself.

Nod. I'm just thinking it was a case of 'forgot to get out of that mindset before posting on the forums.'

I've had my moments in RL where I feel a little -too- Kitty / Neko and have to pause for a second. :D

The way she posted makes sense if you pretend she said all that in SL while in a BDSM club. :D

What would be too obvious? Does Bare Rose make shapes/skins or not? For all I know, they just make clothing. I recall what looked like rented stores on the sim that had skin, but were not labeled Bare Rose skin.

So does Bare Rose make shapes/skins?

*hugs Qie for the gentle joke*

Lexxi I think Qie was referring to the snarky reply I got originally from the OP when I tried to help with my Bare Rose suggestion.

And yes they do have some shapes and skins. Look in the 1 Linden pile of boxes and in the 10 Linden shop. Hope that helps.

Bang on, I think (no pun). And I agree with Amaranthim also, that it's not good form even IN that context, to assume the rest of the world is your sub...to say the least.

I'll stop before I add an irrelevant insult the OP's way.

Made this shape. What do you think?

Click the pix to see the pix larger.

The closeup montage, I had to 'scale' to get the individual pix in it to fit properly, so they may not be 100 percent accurate to the real av facial proportions, but it's close. The full body montage I got smart and kept the pix the real sizes. Lol Anyhow, I like it because I think it's not a stereotype and I think it looks like a real person (not a glamazon.) Also it's thin but not a stick.

(PS that ? at the end of a link doesn't seem to work for me. :( )
