removed because some people just do not know the meaning of kindness

(I would rather NOT have my friend subjected to this) not her fault I decided to post here, and she doesn't deserve the crap being handed out

Do they continually run sound bites describing how I feel about them, too?

This doll is really great and I'm pretty sure it'd be really fun to take this kiddo for a walk in a stroller just to watch people's reactions. Or as my mom once threatened with her not remotely realistic baby doll.. to leave it in a car just to see if people know how to respond to a kid being left in a car. Yes, my mom is insane.

My best friend has 2 of these dolls. Absolutely gorgeous! Of course I'm a bit biased as I love looking at babies (both realistic and these reborns)

I added my vote.

oh ty, and yes they are adorable, and I am just simply amazed at how much they feel like a baby when you hold them

can not help but cradle their heads when they are held

I know you're a famous thread starter and all, but this is a pretty gross misuse of this forum, even by today's Anything Goes standards.

Better off posting completely non-SL related topics on the off topic forum at SLUniverse.

famous thread starter?

gross misuse?

Have you read some of those threads out there lately????

(I knew someone would have an issue, ahh well, nothing ever happens peacefully)

heh

by the way, I do not post elsewhere
I may have a handful of posts scattered around, but this is where I post most of the time...

*shrug*

as many ppl have said, about many topics, if you do not like it, don't read it, no one is forcing you to

Of course you knew someone would say something, because you know it doesn't belong here.

And yes, a person who started a thread with 200,000 views is famous in my book. Not saying that as a bad thing. Also, I gave you a tip on another place you can post. SLUniverse has a lot more traffic too.

maybe I do not wish to post over there... maybe I only feel comfortable posting here

as for being famous for starting a thread that others decided to keep alive, well that is rather silly is it not

the thread was supposed to die, not live on forever and make me famous (or would that be infamous)

the reason I knew someone would have an issue, is no matter what one posts about, someone ALWAYS has a problem.

as for if the thread belongs here, in my opinion, it does, as I like the folks here, and have gotten to know them, and who better to turn to than ppl you know, when you are asking for help

(besides I was pretty sure a lot of the folks here would appreciate these dolls for what they are, works of art)

Well, this is true but this forum is meant for discussions regarding SL. I think we've gotten away with a LOT of off-topic stuff and, by forum rules, the beloved undying thread should have been axed by admin. But, like someone said, posting OT there keeps that stuff out of the 'regular' forum. That said, posting fresh off-topic threads might be pushing things just a bit.

Sure, this thread (and that site) is fun - we've had a blast with it at the office here, but you can't assume everyone LIKES this... art and that it's therefore a valid topic.

I don't mean to sound confrontational with this, Rhaorth. Truly. But Lord Steadham does have a point. General discussion isn't meant for this place. I'd hate to see some moderator land on us with both feet because we've pushed the envelope too far.

B.

if you are going to complain about this one fun thread, maybe you should be posting the same comments in all the other off topic threads

I mean how can one not feel like they are being attacked, or picked out of the crowd, when so many fun threads are let go, yet this one is being pinpointed?

well, if you do not like seeing it, do not post to it, then it will slide away, off of the main pages never to be seen again

I was simply trying to do something nice for a friend, I will not make that same mistake again

(and be assured, each time someone replies I will respond, so... again.. if you do not want to see it, don't reply, let it slip away)

I will not bump it simply to bump it, but I will respond.

I wasn't complaining, attacking or pinpointing. I was talking about "WE", not just you.
I was expressing my worry that the OT stuff will get severely curtailed if we're pushing things too far. I'm as guilty of writing OT posts (not threads) as a lot of folks here. No need for drama.

All threads that I see on the first page are related to SL in some fashion (even if some posts within them aren't). Plastic babies are not. You're right, of course, letting this thread fade away will help to keep the relevant threads nearer the top.

personally I think the RA has become the GD just no one got around to changing the name yet

otherwise, I am sure about 70% of the threads and posts in RA would have been removed a long time ago

and yes letting it slip away is the best idea

still, it did feel like I was being pinpointed... (sorry, can not help how one perceives things)

Yes RA has become the GD of SL, but making it a GD for threads that have absolutely nothing to do with SL is going too far in my opinion, which is why I commented.

yet you comment again which bumps it back to the top...

if you don't like it, let it go, do not comment

I already stated if anyone comments further I will respond...

and exactly why did you feel the need to reply in the thread that you agree, thus once again, bringing it to the top

(I repeat I have stated I will reply each time, to make a point, albiet one that seems to be missed LOL)

If you do not like a thread, just ignore it, and let it go, it will slip away into nothingness

but for some reason folks feel the need to "remind" others that this is not a GD forum, and that such posts are not acceptable.
when said hand slapping could have been done via IM's and thus the thread would have died away

by the way, I do not take kindly to having my hand slapped, I am not a child, I know what the outlines are for this forum and I made a choice to post it here... I do not need some holier than thou saint coming along to tell me I should not have posted it.
