Fire Bomb Throwing Av

Has anyone run into this?

Last night, I was in some sim, somplace, don't remember where. Some Av was there begging women to abuse him and when they wouldn't he started throwing huge fire bombs around the place!

They were mighty impressive! Had us all running for cover. Then suddenly he "caged" somebody!

Didn't appear to be a griefer, at least not the kind I'm used to seeing thus far.

I left the sim, was concerned about what other mischief he had up his sleeve.

Anyone else enounter this type of situation?

That is a griefer. Just not what you are used to. Anyone who starts using firebombs and cages outside a combat zone is a griefer.

Well just remember that he can't REALLY hurt you. You can always just teleport home and you'll be good as new. ;)

Ha! Let alone, he wasn't even cute. He kind of looked like Fry from Futurama.

If you remember Mr. Insecurity's name, IM the landowner with full details of what happened. If enough witnesses IM'd the landowner, the landowner could still add Mr. Insecurity's name to the Banned list for their land. Chances were that the landowner might have been in-world at the time and could have come to Eject and Ban. Same with griefing in a store, send an Im to the owner and most will come immediately if they're in SL or will add the name to the Banned Access list. When a friend of mine had his store hit by griefers, he ejected and banned. He then notified all of his sim neighbors of what had just happened, a couple of whom had been heading over to lend support against the griefers. Those griefers were banned by most of the sim.

Agree. I suggest, get his name, and post it somewhere: "For a hot time, call..."

Obviously I'm leading a sheltered 'S' life..during my time here I have never yet met a 'griefer' never mind a 'fire bombing griefer', what's more I have never seen anyone caged let alone caged and set alight. This may of course have something to do with the baseball bat I got from Median City..or the Uzi sub machine gun I acquired..somewhere..it may even have to do with the 'thermo nuclear device' I acquired in SLX..live in fear griefers..pick on me 'n' fry!!

 grrr!!

but seriously...one of these days I'd love to meet a griefer

(oh and..at which point is it considered good etiquette to hit them!!)

Sadly (?) no..I was spared incineration..he (who will remain 'anon' for legal reasons..apparently) merely hovered above me in a craft 'presumably' of his own design blocking my every move then caged me..what fun!!

...and you didn't even have time to get your sub-machine gun out - shame! ;)

There seems to be an increase in the number of schoolboys in SL recently - schoollboyish mentality if not in age. I recently created a male alt to use as a back-up store and to test animations (got fed up with changing my shape and the Appearance tools are borked anyway) and I never realised before quite how rough SL can be - and I don't mean in the combat sims. I don't get exposed to much griefing as a female av - but my male alt seems to be taken as a natural target. Has anyone else observed similarly? The OP was regarding a male av griefer who was asking female avs to abuse him????? (Why? So he could AR them? Must be mental - lol!) Is SL griefing a sexist activity? Maybe SL Griefing would make a good thesis for someone's Psychology PhD!

Actually he wanted them to sexually abuse him :-) Talk about a good thesis. Of course, who's to say "he" was actually male? Could have been some transgender griefer for all I know :-)

Unfortunately there is a lot of irrational insecurity towards furries, even on SL where furry avs are some of the coolest! Gets very annoying considering that abuse-reporting does jack-diddly-squat when a griefer can just go and register another account (or switch to one of several already registered) and just come right back.

Though I have noticed that a large chested female fur seems to get a lot less trouble than a male one, so there may be some basis to the sexist griefing theory :)

It's annoying having to restrict things like scripts just because I can't really trust that regular visitors to my store and other areas aren't going to come and cause trouble. It does however give me an excuse to build things I would otherwise have just left my visitors to provide for themselves =)

There is a subset of furries who are gays that have sex in furry form, which they call "yiffing," and there are intensely homophobic griefers who know this and actively persecute furries, apparently not caring whether they are actually "yiffers" or not. So it would not be suprising if they concentrate their efforts on male-looking furries and not female-looking ones.

Whoa - I thought Yiffing included Hetero Furry Sex as well.
