Why do men in sl - and it's always the men - think that we wanna cuddle and smooch after the Big O. SL's really convenient and I get all wishy-eyed and ready to nod off and blokes (prolly in Dalmatia, L.A. or some other far-flung corner of the empire) wanna cuddle up. I tell them, "you're as real as a real bloke at this point, so off you go and find the guest house". Right? Right!

Dunno about the rest of my sex but I hate cuddling up afterwards. It's like hugging a wet beach mattress. I get razzled.

What do men think of this? Especially teh ones who have sex, please. I know some of you dont but your welcome to throw in your two cents worth.

I always thought that you ladies always complained that "You men just want to fall asleep now you have got what you wanted".

I have always slept alone. Dunno why. And dont really enjoy post-coital chitter. I get moody afterwards - you know? I can afford the privacy. I'm better by morning and enjoy having breakfast and normality by 6 am. Dunno why I'm like that.

I do cook meals after sex - like lobster - absolutely TRUE.

Because "men just want to roll over and go to sleep" is a notorious gripe that guys hear over and over again. It's almost as common as "leaving the seat up" and "what the HELL did you do to the soap?"

But that's all RL. In SL, I've no idea why guys assume we always want that. I mean, it's great if that's what you want, but not everyone gets a real benefit from that in SL. Always better to ask than to assume I say.. unless you really know the person that is.

Not that I partake in any of this is SL.....

But.....were I too indulge, even for the entertainment of it....if said partner wanted to cuddle...I'd probably just use that down time to go outside IRL and have a smoke, maybe browse the web for some interesting factoid or play a few rounds of spider solitaire......cuddle all ya want bro....but I can't do 'bored to tears' for much more then 5 seconds in SL.

Ok seriously....RL.....have I wished 'mr. great sex' would just go home after the fact....absolutely....when I was decidedly 'single' I hated it when they wanted to spend the night. Even now.....when my sweety is home....it's very difficult for me to actually 'sleep' with someone in the bed. The closeness is fab.....but I can't even fall asleep unless I am entirely sprawled out and in my own 'zone' in the bed. My cat is the only critter that manages to stay close to me while I fall asleep.....the purring does it for me.

In Second Life I think I'd do that while having sex.

Right. Some of us don't -- in SL I mean.

In many ways I think your idea of separate rooms could be the more romantic approach. People (not just guys) can put their best foot forward for only so long. Eventually the more unpleasant side of bodily functions must manifest, whether it's snoring, breaking wind or whatever. So separate rooms would help keep the mystery alive.

Unfortunately, and especially if it's a really good session, the massive rush of dopamine through my nervous system has been known to knock me completely out. The lady would have to wait 15 or 20 minutes before booting me to the man house -- or dog house as the case may be.

But in SL there are no unpleasant bodily functions unless of course one is a griefer in need of grabbing attention. So RL concerns shouldn't apply.

I do see that cuddling in SL could be kind of boring in and of itself. It might be great for deep discussion though.

As usual, I see six sides to every issue and cannot come to a decision.

Without the distraction of football, beer and tuna fish sandwiches afterwards, men do what they've been told they're supposed to do after humping. Obviously it's not natural!

Some people are snuggle-bunnies and some people are not. If a man has no desire to cuddle after sex it's seen as normal, whereas if a woman has no desire to do so, one can always find people that think that there is something wrong with her. She is emotionally damaged, or a whore, or must have some other negative characteristic to explain her "abnormal" behavior. If society did not impose this sexist double standard then neither the perception, nor the possible reality, that more women than men desire cuddling after sex might exist.

Why is it women are quite happy to have multiple O but then a couple of minutes afterwards when you want to go for seconds or even thirds they're not interested?

I find it great to fall asleep in each others arms till about 2 hours later when your arm has gone numb, there's a definate art to finding the right position to fall asleep together in, it's frustrating when the postition that works once fails next time

I always thought seperate Logouts/TP's was the SL norm afterwards

In SL, I admit to IMing when someone's making love to me. I am certain I am not alone in this! I have also used my mobile when I was pleasuring/pleasured.
In RL, I admit to watching a telly over his shoulder (with the captions on - I was only found out coz I laughed at a joke). Also listening more to the radio than to what he is waffling on about.
Hal has told me he can see when I am on IM coz I have a vacant stare, so I dont do it these days.
Must go to bed soon - I'm on the road at 4.30am tomorrow.
