I think the fact that he has forgotten that hurts his image and our perception of his take on things more than anything else. If he is going to do a presentation for the average SL user, then he seriously needs to figure out who that user is. It's not the geek/tech type and it isn't the serious investors. It's the average social type who doesn't really care about the 'insert random tech/investor term here.' They want to know that LL cares and that LL is going to improve the platform. So, yes, this speech did seem rather like an inside joke upon which most of us were on the outside of. Edit: Woot! 3000 posts!

I think people spend too much time tying to find offense in things other people say - maybe some sort of a complex going on here. Finding something offensive is a personal perspective thing, so just change the way you look at it. Or better yet, just stop worrying so much about what others think of you and just have fun and enjoy things.
