OK - general question then...
On more than one occasion I have wanted to contact a member of this forum via IM here or email- what ever it is that the forum provides...out of all the folks - grant you it has been even ten I'm sure- but still- out of the folks I have attempted to contact only one had a viable addy - or rather, would accept communication.. So just curious.. do you allow contact? and if not or even if...why or why not?

I have PM turned on, anyone can contact me if they like. I have a SL only email address that is not public, but I'll give it to someone if needed.

all off and IM`s as IM`s ingame with no email forward
if some one ever needs to contact me, i`m ingame all day long, if i`m offline, i`m not home or asleep so they won`t get an answer nway, besides, i check my mail 1 time a day unless expecting an email

I have PM turned on, and I use it. I tend to give email/IM addrs only to people whom I know. And all of us, of course, can be contacted via IM from inworld - I think nearly everyone in SL has that go to email.

I sometimes don't check my SL email for days so it's a waste.

I have it turned on now too in the forum, plus I'm online for long chunks of time when I am online.

I guess really what I meant originally was the PM - it's just that when it is not turned on you end up with the email choice which seldom works either. I understand the being available via IM in world- but personally I prefer if someone wants to talk to me NOW the can do it rather than having to wait to go in world. so yeah- I have PM turned on. and I think my addy is listed - not sure now.

My PMs are on, but that's it for the forum - everything else goes via IM/email

PMs are on here. I get in world IMs on an SL-only email that I check 2-3 times a day.

Yes please, any time.
I'm bored out of my skull today, so that's a good reason to welcome people to contact me. Plus, why make it hard for people to get in touch? SL and the forums are social tools. I don't get so many messages that it's unwieldy, but I suppose if I ever do, I'll cross that bridge then.

The way I see it, SL is a social vehicle. So why not! Just my opinion.

The default for PMs is off, so I suspect a lot of the time the issue is less that people don't want to be contacted as they don't know they need to turn the option on.

Curious isn't it that IM to email is on be default .. or was when I started anyway. Well, I turned IM to email off and PM on .. I'm like that .. contrary. /me almost as bored as Trout ... but I finish in 20 minutes
