Help!!!
I love my friends, but I also would like to be able to log into SL with my alt and spend some time without them knowing Im there.
Does anybody know how to avoid being tracked by the Avatar Online trackers that log directly into the Linden database??
Or is the only solution to make a new avatar that nobody knows about??

I hope someone can help me.

That's it. That or become a Linden, but even then I think when hidden they're in God mode and everything they do is logged. Sorry.

i find that if you become real annoying that works too..
just get all depressed and cry over every little thing and they'll start to back away..
unless you want to keep these friends..then i'd just make a new alt :D

They can only track your alt's online status if they know its name. Therefore, if you make an alt to get away from your friends, it might not be the best idea to tell them that you have an alt and its name...

Ah right. Thanks. I'm having a blonde day. I wasn't sure if it meant there was some way for people to do a search for all your alts.

You CAN hide your online status, both from certain people on your friend list and from the general public. It's a Preferences setting for global, and a Friends list setting for individual.

That's the stuff that llRequestAgentData ignores.

The topic is not about that kind of online status, they are talking about using scripts and the avatars UUID. That is not affected by the option you mention.

/me shrugs.

The OP only mentioned online status on the Linden end of things, no mention of what specific method was meant. A lot of people don't know about the "hide my online status" options, so I felt like mentioning it.

And if you've got people stalking you with scripts, I think you have bigger problems ;)

It's kind of funny, people go to all kinds of lengths to hide their status, then put out notecard drop boxes or rent ad boards that broadcast the information.

i don't even bother that far..the most i will do is keep my groups to myself which are my business anyways and keep my pics to one location..
if they come digging harder than that they better have a save their ass script ready to use :D

My online status is on display in front of my store. My store is accessible through more than half of my RP picks. Nearly my entire friends list has map privileges on me. Half of my alts are as well known as I am. And, I wouldn't have it any other way. =^-^=

What's funny is my online status isn't hidden, so if someone looks at my profile it will say if I'm online. Yet I still get people randomly "hi"ing me and offering friendship when I don't know them. I've been a little evil with a few of those and accepted the friend offer, but marked them unable to see my online status. Only actual friends can map me, but everyone can see my online status, unless they're annoying. ;)

Still not sure what type of tracker some are talking about?

"Cannot hide"? Agent data?

Sounds very spy vs. spy.
